Origin and beginnings of the brand
The origins of LYOFOOD date back to the 1990s when a Polish engineer working at a blood donation center came up with the idea of using freeze-drying technology for vegetables. The first product was freeze-dried chives. Soon, the company Lyovit, which grew out of this idea, began to specialize in the production of freeze-dried vegetables, fruits, and herbs. In response to the growing demand from Polish travelers and mountaineers, at the end of the 1990s, the first freeze-dried expedition meals were prepared.
