LifeStraw

LifeStraw is a brand specializing in the production of innovative water filters and purifiers that allow for the safe consumption of water from various sources, including those contaminated microbiologically. LifeStraw products are ideal for tourists, travelers, survival enthusiasts, and all individuals who need water purification products in the field or emergency situations.

Brand Origin

The LifeStraw brand originates from the operations of the Swiss company Vestergaard, which has been focusing on creating solutions to improve health and sanitary conditions in developing countries for years. LifeStraw was created in response to the need to combat a dangerous parasitic disease – dracunculiasis (Guinea worm disease). The first prototype of the LifeStraw filter was designed to protect against infection by effectively removing parasite larvae from drinking water.

Development and Innovations

Initially, LifeStraw was primarily used in humanitarian efforts and health programs in developing countries. Over the years, the brand has significantly expanded its offerings and increased its scale of operations:

• Introducing subsequent generations of filters, including models intended for home, travel, and outdoor use.
• Expanding activities with social programs, such as Give Back, providing clean water to children and communities in need.
• Achieving B Corporation certification and climate-neutral status.
• Introducing advanced filtration solutions, such as pitchers, bottles, backpack systems, and flow filters.

The brand is also actively involved in aiding during natural disasters and humanitarian crises, providing its products to places affected by the lack of access to safe water.
