Midland G13 PMR two-way radio - Black

The Midland G13 operates on a frequency of 446 MHz (PMR), with a maximum range of up to 12 km. Its compact design and intuitive operation make it ideal for outdoor activities and work environments where constant communication is essential.

99 PMR channels, dual-channel transmission

The two-way radio is adapted to handle 99 PMR446 channels (16 + 83 in its default settings). The G13 also supports 50 CTCSS tones and 105 DCS codes. The dual PTT (push-to-talk) button allows for transmission on two frequencies. The ability to self-programme customises the device to individual needs.

Aluminium casing, IPX4 rating

The casing is made from solid aluminium. An internal sealing system guarantees water resistance according to the IPX4 standard (resistant to water reaching from various directions at an intensity of up to 10 litres per minute). Connectors for a 2.5 mm stereo microphone and 3.5 mm mono headphones are standard equipment for the model.

Battery powered, LCD display

The device is powered by a 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery, allowing for approximately 40 hours of operation on a full charge. The two-way radio features a clear LCD with orange backlighting.

The PMR 446MHz radio is very good. The antenna works perfectly and the battery lasts a long time. Sound modulation is at a high level. There are two programmable buttons available and the menu is easy to use. The display shows all necessary information, though it could be bigger and show channel names as letters. Programming the device works flawlessly. The manufacturer's website has the right software and you can buy either the original or a replacement cable.

I chose this radio as an addition to my Motorola T82 set and I am very satisfied with the equipment. The antenna is more sensitive than in the T82 and always receives at the same level regardless of its position. A huge advantage is the Li-Ion battery, which has a large capacity and shows the exact charge level. The radio can be programmed with the manufacturer's software using any cable compatible with Kenwood. The configuration options are very extensive.

Everything matches the description. I am yet to test the product.

The product is of high quality and matches the description. The 2600mAh battery works great. The on/off (volume) knob could offer more resistance so you don't accidentally mute the device. The only serious drawback is the lack of a user manual for the menu (though you can find it online in English). The radio isn't particularly difficult to operate, but a beginner might be a little confused at first – it's worth reading up on PMR theory. The "PRG10" programming software is optional. The radio can operate at 4~5W, but then it loses its certification. I highly recommend this device, it really is excellent!
