Very good little radio, with the included programming cable you don’t need to buy anything else, it’s more than enough. Comfortable though small, and it looks funny, but it compensates with its range, modern features, wide settings, and programming ability. The only downside is that I had to google some instructions from the Bf UV-5R, but in the end everything works and I’m very satisfied – I definitely recommend it.

Dual Watch function, backlit LCD screen
The radio supports Dual Watch, which allows simultaneous listening to two channels. This allows transmitting and listening on the main frequency and listening to the auxiliary frequency simultaneously. The HTQ version features improved modulation and increased immunity to interference compared to earlier models. The backlit LCD display shows not only alphanumeric characters, but also icons indicating the status of functions. The radio is equipped with a 41-item menu, flashlight and FM radio, increasing its functionality in various situations.
The UV-5R HTQ can be programmed directly from the keypad or with a computer via a USB cable. The software allows you to group contacts and identify them. The VOX function allows you to start transmitting by voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button.

I own two of these walkie-talkies and I must admit that for this price they are really good. Once unlocked, you can use a wide range of frequencies: 136.000MHz - 174.000MHz and 400.000MHz - 519.00MHz. For me, the parameters are very satisfactory.

This is the 144-146MHz, 430-440MHz version, so the options are quite limited. The radio works without problems, but I don't see any major positives here. It's better to look for a less limited version, unless you only need it for listening to the radio – in that case it's definitely worth it.

This is the best choice in this price range, although I’m giving it 4 stars because the volume knob often turns by itself, which can be annoying. Despite this, I highly recommend it to those with a limited budget.

Very pleasant radio – much more handy than the UV-82. Although the battery is smaller, charging via USB-C solves this problem. It is worth considering changing the antenna to a shorter one if range is not the most important thing, as it makes the radio even more compact.
