Very good little radio, with the included programming cable you don't need to buy anything else, because that's fully sufficient. It's comfortable, though small and looks a bit funny, but it makes up for it with range, modern features, wide settings, and the ability for programming. The only downside is that I had to do some Googling with the Bf UV-5R instructions, but in the end everything works great and I'm very satisfied—I definitely recommend it.

I own two of these radios and I have to admit that for the price, they're really good. Once unlocked, you can use a broad frequency range: 136.000MHz - 174.000MHz and 400.000MHz - 519.000MHz. For me, the parameters are very satisfying.

This is the 144-146MHz, 430-440MHz version, so the possibilities are quite limited. The radio works without any problems, but I don't see many advantages here. It’s better to look for a less restricted version, unless you need it just for listening to the radio—in that case, it’s definitely worth it.
