Built for durability, the Wisport Sparrow II 40L is a high-capacity pack that excels in organisation. It comfortably fits a laptop and tablet with room to spare, maintaining a professional profile. The Cordura construction ensures long-term resistance, while the side compression straps are top-tier—keeping the load stable and preventing gear from shifting when the pack isn't at full capacity.
Wisport Sparrow II Backpack 40 l - Graphite
A new version of the popular Sparrow model! A compact military and survival backpack with a capacity of 40 litres, made of 500D Cordura in Graphite colour. The design is based on the urban Raven model and has been adapted for intensive outdoor use.
durable Cordura construction
The backpack is made from robust 500D Cordura, a material with high resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage, which translates into long-lasting durability when used in harsh environments.
2 compartments, 5 pockets, hydration system
The Sparrow II model is designed with two large compartments. The main section includes four D-rings on the back wall for attaching gear. The secondary section is equipped with an expanded organiser for sorting small items. The interior of the main compartment contains mesh pockets with zips. There is a flat pocket on the flap that is the same size as the main compartment and approximately 5 cm thick, ideal for storing documents, maps, or a compact laptop. Additionally, there is a quick-access small exterior pocket on the flap.
The backpack features a water tank hook, a tube exit hole, and two loops on each shoulder strap for secure attachment.
main zip, protective flaps
The main and auxiliary compartments are opened by a two-way zip routed along three edges of the flap, which provides wide access to the interior. All zips used are durable and abrasion-resistant, and textile handles allow comfortable operation even with gloves. The zips of the compartments and front pocket are covered with flaps, which protect the interior from moisture and dirt.
carrying system, compression straps, transport handle
The AFS - Air Flow System carrying system guarantees the appropriate rigidity of the entire structure, comfort of use and effective removal of heat from the back. The comfort during carrying is also influenced by quick-release, elongated shoulder straps with adjustable length, as well as chest and hip belts. The inner side of the shoulder straps is made of densely woven fabric that does not catch on clothing. On the back there is a tunnel designed for a fibreglass frame, compatible with the backpack system (not included in the set).
On the sides there are two compression straps on each side, fastened with 30 mm fastex buckles. They allow you to reduce the volume of the backpack and stably attach outdoor equipment - clothing, camping tarps, sleeping pads or camouflage netting. A transport handle of great length and width is placed on top for easy carrying.
MOLLE / PALS
On the front, bottom and sides are sewn MOLLE/PALS tapes, allowing to attach additional accoutrement or urgent need elements that should be easily accessible.
velcro panel
The backpack's front is equipped with a velcro panel, perfect for attaching patches, unit emblems, national flags, or Morale Patches.
Set elements
The backpack comes with a practical rain cover, which effectively protects the backpack and its contents from moisture. It works well both during heavy rainfall and in difficult field conditions, protecting the equipment from getting wet.
manufacturer's warranty
The backpack is covered by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
Fastex buckles are a popular type of fastener consisting of two parts that snap together, and pressing both sides of the buckle on the sides causes it to come undone. They are often used to fasten belts, backpack pockets and other items where fast and secure fastening and unfastening are crucial.
AFS (Air Flow System) is a back ventilation system, based on a back panel set on a specially curved frame with a spacer mesh. The design ensures that the backpack is stiffened and provides adequate air circulation by minimizing the points of contact between the backpack and the user's body.
MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
High-quality buckles and fasteners distinguished by their durability and reliability. Made of durable materials such as nylon or polyamide, used in products that require a solid and secure fastener, providing security and comfort.
Duraflex buckles are a type of high-quality buckles and fasteners made of durable materials such as polyamide or polypropylene. They are weatherproof, UV-resistant and resistant to mechanical damage. Duraflex are used for fastening and adjusting in backpacks, bags, clothing and military equipment, providing reliable and durable fastening solutions.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Convenient and spacious backpack. Quality fittings and it's sturdy. Large main compartment. There's a possibility to carry a 14" laptop in the compartment near the back. There is a spacious mesh organiser inside the main compartment. I'm satisfied with the backpack.

This is a really solid backpack – it’s proved itself on several of my trips and it’s surprisingly comfortable to carry things in it, which really impressed me given the type of rucksack it is. Once you remove the hip belt, it can easily replace a cabin suitcase as it’s a similar size. I always take it on flights and it performs brilliantly. The materials used are high quality – I’ve been using it for over a year, and it still looks brand new. The top pocket of the backpack is a really practical feature – you can store, for example, headphones, gloves or sunglasses, and at the same time it’s unobtrusive and lets you quickly reach for essential items. However, there is one downside, which has also been mentioned by other users: the lack of straps tightening the shoulder straps at the top of the backpack means that when fully packed, the upper part sticks out and it looks unsightly. I’m surprised that Wisport’s designers didn’t anticipate this and released the product with such a flaw – it was irritating enough for me that I corrected it myself, and now it’s fine. At this price and equipment class, users shouldn’t be forced to make their own modifications. I’m adding photos to my review so other users and Wisport’s designers can see the solution – it would be great if this adjustment was introduced in the backpacks and offered to those who’ve put their trust in the brand. In my case, I made the modification using original Wisport parts, I only had to alter the buckles on the shoulder straps so I didn’t have to cut the sewn-on tapes.

There are no perfect things, but this backpack is very close to ideal. What am I missing? In the first large compartment, there could be a velcro panel for additional organisers. The side pockets for canteens could be deeper, as standard military bottles often slide out and can fall. That's it when it comes to cons. On the plus side: large capacity, regular shape, comfortable carry system, zippers work smoothly and don't get stuck, durable, thick material, and a nice colour (although that's a matter of personal taste). I use the backpack as a spare during car trips. It easily fits a booster/power bank, a first aid kit, tarp, kit for boiling water, several packs of freeze-dried food, coffee, tea, mugs, multitool, small axe, knife, large saw, blanket, various small items and it still isn't full :) That's exactly what I wanted!

The backpack is quite expensive, but it is definitely worth its price. It has a large capacity and is very practical. The straps are sturdy, durable, and comfortable to wear. The zips are long-lasting and work smoothly. Additionally, the included rain cover is a great bonus.

I've had it for some time now, so I've had a good chance to test it thoroughly. I really appreciate its capacity, the practical additional pockets, and the cover that's included in the set. The backpack might seem quite large, but 40 litres really is a lot of space, which makes it easy to take a lot of equipment. The side pockets with compression straps are great – you can easily fit the stock of an AR there.

Wisport Sparrow 40L backpack Pros: Spacious, solidly made Cons: No MOLLE straps on the front, the water bottle pockets could be bigger as a one-litre bottle just fits, but only just Summary: This is the best backpack I've used so far
-
The backpack is made of very high-quality materials – in this respect, it matches brands such as 5.11, Oakley, or Mystery Ranch. The stitching quality is excellent, the AFS carrying system is very comfortable, and the layout of the pockets and interior organisation is flawless. However, I have reservations about some of the design solutions: the lack of a molle system at the front and replacing it with two straps does not work in practice. The handle for the shoulder straps has been sewn on lower down, so the backpack sticks out and cannot be adjusted. The side pockets are not functional – a 1L Camelbak bottle easily falls out of them, and the rows of side molle straps are too short. Additionally, the strips protecting the zip have been poorly designed – they do not return to place and catch on the zips. As a result, I decided to return this backpack and I am still looking for a 40-litre model.
-
The backpack is well-made, nothing comes apart, the seams are evenly stitched, and using it is really comfortable. The quality-to-price ratio is also very favourable, so I can confidently recommend this product.
-
A solid backpack with a well-designed construction. According to the manufacturer, it weighs just under 2 kg when empty, but in my opinion that is light enough for its dimensions. The set also includes a rain cover, which is located in the lower pocket of the backpack – a definite advantage. The whole product is made with attention to quality. I definitely recommend buying this model.

I switched from the Zipperfox 40 model to this Sparrow. Previously I also used the 30-litre Sparrow, but I needed something bigger, so later I used the aforementioned Zipper 40. However, I missed having more compartments—even though it was spacious, one large compartment with a few small pockets just wasn’t enough. In this backpack, I can easily organise my things and, most importantly, it’s enough for three-day trips without any problem. The material is, of course, excellent Cordura, and the zips are very well secured. I highly recommend this backpack.

Wisport is synonymous with the highest quality. Their backpacks perform perfectly regardless of the circumstances. I myself use two models: 40 and 16 litres, which allows me to recommend them with full conviction.
-
I expected more from this backpack, but unfortunately I was disappointed. The advantages are high-quality workmanship and good materials. Disadvantages: the organiser is completely impractical, placed on the inside of the exterior flap, so items from the open pockets can easily fall out. There are also no load adjustment straps on the shoulder straps, which, given the large capacity, makes the top of the backpack stick out – it doesn't look good. The flat pocket in the main compartment could be split into two, because as it is, it's not very useful. I think the backpack still needs improvements and is unfinished. Maybe future versions will be better. For now – returning it.
-
Overall, the backpack is solid, but the organiser is a complete failure. It has been placed on the inside of the front flap, which means items can easily fall out when opening. Also, the organiser is very poorly designed – I'm quite disappointed. There are also no reinforcing straps at the top of the shoulder straps, which results in the top of the backpack sticking out – this could have been avoided. It's a pity, as I had high hopes when I bought the backpack, but unfortunately I'm let down. I'm returning it.

Excellent backpack, exactly what I was looking for. I considered buying the ZipperFox 40, but the internal dimensions of this model made me choose it instead. It works perfectly for two- or three-day trips. The arrangement of the Pals/Molle attachments is, in my opinion, very well planned. Thanks to the reversed U-shaped zip, you can access the entire contents of the main compartment very quickly. The carrying system is very comfortable, and an additional advantage is the built-in rain cover.
