Mil-Tec Pilot Sleeping Bag - Olive

Durable sleeping bag in Olive colour, designed in a mummy shape, promoting a comfortable body position and freedom of movement while sleeping. Made from high-grade polyester, with a robust outer shell and warm filling for enhanced durability and thermal comfort.

Operating temperatures and usage conditions

The temperature range for the Pilot sleeping bag has been determined in accordance with ISO 23537-1:2022:

  • T-comfort: 4°C – the temperature at which a woman can sleep through the night without feeling cold or uncomfortable
  • T-limit: -1°C – the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep at night without being woken by the cold
  • T-extreme: -17°C – the lowest survival temperature, not recommended for regular use

Polyester construction with a soft lining

The outer material is made from polyester that is moisture-resistant and easy to keep clean. The inner lining is made of soft cotton that feels pleasant against the skin.

Polyester filling

Synthetic polyester insulation offers low weight and effective thermal insulation. The quilted construction keeps the filling in place, ensuring even heat distribution.

Left-hand zip and protective baffle

This model features a two-way zip positioned on the left and secured with a Velcro flap. On the inside, there is a protective baffle to prevent the fabric from snagging in the zip and to reduce heat loss. When unzipped, the sleeping bag can serve as a quilt, mattress or bivvy, and it can also be joined with another sleeping bag.

Integrated hood for protection against the cold

Anatomically shaped hood provides extra warmth retention for the head area.

Easy to transport and store

Designed for convenience both in carrying and storage. When packed, the sleeping bag measures 40 x 24 x 29 cm with a weight of 1700 g, making it easy to transport without overburdening your kit.

Set elements

The sleeping bag comes with a practical carry bag to protect it from dirt and damage during transit. The carry bag is attached to the sleeping bag, minimising the risk of losing it. The additional soft padding allows the carry bag to be used as a pillow.

    The sleeping bag was neatly and carefully packed by the manufacturer, but after unfolding it, I had trouble rolling it up again as well. I did not like the system of rolling it into the cover, which is permanently attached to the rest of the sleeping bag. Admittedly, I haven't checked how warm it is, but it seems to me that the thin filling will not provide enough warmth. The interior is indeed pleasant to the touch, but the exterior material is stiff and rustles. In the end, I returned the sleeping bag.

    The sleeping bag is pleasant to the touch, easy to unfold and fold. You can buy a compression sack if you wish, although that's down to personal preference. In temperatures above +10 degrees, when using thermal clothing, it's perfectly suitable for camping in a tent.

    The sleeping bag retains heat well and the idea of a pillow hidden in the cover is nice – it’s very comfortable to sleep on. Packing it can be difficult because there’s no bag, but with a bit of practice it becomes easier. The downside is the zip, which can get stuck, especially around the knees. Overall, a product worth its price.
