Mil-Tec Pilot Sleeping Bag - Black

A highly durable sleeping bag in Black, designed in a mummy shape, offering comfortable sleeping position and freedom of movement. Made from robust polyester, complemented by a tough outer layer and warm filling.

Temperatures and operating environment

The usable temperature range for the Pilot sleeping bag is determined according to the ISO 23537-1:2022 standard:

  • T-comfort: 4°C – the comfort temperature limit for women.
  • T-limit: -1°C – the lowest temperature at which a man does not experience thermal discomfort while sleeping.
  • T-extreme: -17°C – the extreme survival temperature; not recommended for regular use.

Polyester-based construction, soft lining.

The outer layer is made from moisture-resistant polyester that is easy to keep clean. The interior of the sleeping bag is lined with soft cotton, gentle on the skin.

Filling made of polyester fibres.

Synthetic polyester insulation acts as the warming core, providing low weight and excellent thermal comfort. The quilted design limits fibre movement, ensuring even heat distribution.

Left-sided zip, internal protective flap.

This model features a two-way zip on the left side with a Velcro tab for added security. An internal protective strip prevents the zip snagging the fabric and reduces heat loss. When unzipped, the sleeping bag can serve as a blanket, mattress or bivvy, and can also be joined with another sleeping bag.

Integrated hood for cold protection.

Anatomically shaped hood provides additional protection against heat loss from the head area.

Easy to transport and store

A design that's easy to carry and store. When packed, it measures 40 x 24 x 29 cm and weighs 1700 g, making it convenient to transport without overburdening your kit.

    The sleeping bag was neatly and carefully packed by the manufacturer, but after unfolding it, I had trouble rolling it up again as well. I did not like the system of rolling it into the cover, which is permanently attached to the rest of the sleeping bag. Admittedly, I haven't checked how warm it is, but it seems to me that the thin filling will not provide enough warmth. The interior is indeed pleasant to the touch, but the exterior material is stiff and rustles. In the end, I returned the sleeping bag.

    The sleeping bag is pleasant to the touch, easy to unfold and fold. You can buy a compression sack if you wish, although that's down to personal preference. In temperatures above +10 degrees, when using thermal clothing, it's perfectly suitable for camping in a tent.

    The sleeping bag retains heat well and the idea of a pillow hidden in the cover is nice – it’s very comfortable to sleep on. Packing it can be difficult because there’s no bag, but with a bit of practice it becomes easier. The downside is the zip, which can get stuck, especially around the knees. Overall, a product worth its price.
