Merrell MOAB 3 Mid Tactical Waterproof Boots - Dark Olive

These Merrell shoes provide exceptional comfort and do not cause foot fatigue even after long wear. The rubber sole offers an excellent grip on surfaces and is very flexible.

After four years of using the Moab 2 Mid Tactical Waterproof model, I decided to buy another pair – this time version 3. In my opinion, the previous model suited my foot better, although I don't exactly remember how it felt 4 years ago. I never washed or impregnated them, and only after several years did they start letting water through. After washing and impregnating them, they were waterproof again. I wear them every day in the woods for about 2 hours, mainly on grass, mud, and puddles. Now I bought model 3 and I hope it works just as well. Excellent shoes – size 43 fits perfectly, even on a wide foot. I definitely recommend them. I have attached photos of my four-year-old second-generation shoes to my review.

The declared waterproofness is only theoretical. After walking through small puddles, your socks get soaked. The membrane lets water in even after using waterproofing spray and does not protect against moisture.

These are already my second pair of shoes from this brand – the previous ones, after several years of use in various conditions, are starting to wear out. They were very durable so I decided to buy the same model again. I honestly recommend them.

Choosing footwear is an individual matter, but for me these shoes are perfect in terms of fit and comfort. After a few days I bought a second identical pair. I wore them for about 10 hours a day and during that time I didn’t even feel them on my feet. A highly recommended product, and the service at militaria.pl as always is quick and efficient.

The footwear is comfortable and lightweight, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say that they never get wet. After a walk in a dewy meadow, my feet were wet. I don’t know where this membrane that is supposed to protect against water is.

This is the newest model in this series – I have used previous versions as well and have no complaints. The shoes are light, comfortable and suitable for every season. I recommend them!

Merrell has clearly lowered the quality of its products. With this model, the waterproofness is okay, but breathability is nonexistent. After a few days of walking in damp forests, your feet are so chafed that your toenails fall off. Once dirty with mud and soil, they are impossible to clean, and after a few washes they get deformed at the front, the GoreTex starts to delaminate, and the sole comes off slightly. Maybe they are suitable for a light drizzle in the mountains, but promoting them as combat boots is a joke.

The shoes are solid and durable – this is another pair from this reliable brand that I own. They provide great support for the feet and are very lightweight. They are perfect for tough conditions and are waterproof.

The Merrell MOAB 3 Mid Tactical Waterproof model is indeed stylish and practical outdoors, but it does have its drawbacks – in particular, the upper part of the shoe is too stiff and presses on the leg. The solution is to lace them one eyelet lower, which improves comfort. The tongue of the shoe is also unnecessarily thick, which increases the pressure on the ankle.

I definitely give five stars – the product matches the description and serves well. The most important thing is that the shoes are waterproof and perform well during mountain trips and in other conditions. I recommend them.

They work well on cold and rainy days and keep warmth in nicely. I don’t know how they will cope during bigger frosts, but they are suitable for Polish winters. The soles grip well on slippery surfaces, are flexible, and the lacing works perfectly.

I recommend ordering two sizes to try, because a size 42 in these shoes comes up more like 41.5. As for waterproofness and breathability, it’s hard for me to judge.

The shoes seem solid and well made, they are warm and definitely waterproof. As for breathability, I have no clear opinion. It’s a good idea to order two sizes or, if your foot is size 42, even consider three. For a foot length of 26 cm, size 42 turned out to be unsuitable – so I recommend ordering at least two pairs, although this is a bigger expense.

When it comes to breathability and air circulation, these shoes are the weakest I have used so far. Just half an hour’s walk in the city in autumn and the sock is completely wet with sweat, even when the shoes are loosely laced. They might be comfortable, but due to the constant moisture inside, wearing them is not comfortable.
