Freeze-drying

The freeze-drying process is a vacuum dehydration of food products at extremely low temperatures (-50 C). Thanks to this technology, freeze-dried food is a complete, high-calorie meal that meets high expectations during extreme sports such as climbing, high-altitude trekking, sailing, and other forms of summer and winter tourism. It is used by polar explorers, travelers, and professional athletes during various expeditions and camps.

    I definitely recommend the bigos from Lyofood. It has only advantages – it's lightweight, so it's easy to pack, it prepares instantly, and the taste is really very good. Of course, it's not the same as homemade bigos, but during a hike it works great.
