Warm, soft, zippered sweatshirt fleece with a spacious hood with visor. The 380 g/m2 material provides thermal insulation for even the most severe frosts, enabling the simultaneous removal of excess heat and moisture (sweat) released during exercise. Increased breathability and thermal exchange with the environment is facilitated by underarm vents, closed by zippers. The opening and closing directions of the zippers are chosen so that the owner will have no trouble operating them independently.

Thanks to the roomy cut a thinner sweatshirt can be worn under the sweatshirt, but even a bulletproof vest will fit. The rear part is slightly elongated to protect the kidneys from being blown up, but the whole jacket is quite short - mainly to provide unobstructed access to pockets and equipment carried on the belt of the pants. 

The jacket has six pockets:
- two chest ones closed with zippers,
- two on the sleeves at shoulder height,
- one on the left sleeve above the wrist,
- one so-called poaching - on the back under the cross with two independent accesses - from the right and left side.

The shoulder pockets have soft Velcro (Velcro), allowing you to attach a properly prepared patch.

The hood is voluminous so that it can be worn over a head already protected by a cap. It has a soft visor to protect the wearer from water runoff directly on the face. The hood is sewn to the collar in such a way that the lining does not expose the neck. As a result, particularly sensitive areas are protected from wind and cold.

The sleeves from wrist to elbow have been reinforced with strong material, while the elastic cuffs have been replaced with a velcro fastening patch, allowing the size to be adjusted depending on the thickness of the wrist, as well as whether the wearer is also wearing gloves or, for example, a watch.

In order to protect the body from hypothermia due to airing or getting wet, ECWCS clothing should be used.

    This is definitely one of my best purchases. Great fleece – very warm and comfortable. The pockets are perfectly placed and their number is just right. The zips are strong and work flawlessly. The hood is large and has a peak. I usually wear it as an outer layer, but sometimes I put it on under a jacket. If anyone is hesitating, I highly recommend it – you won't be disappointed.

    I'm not sure if this fleece needs any more recommendations, as I think everyone has already noticed its strengths. It's very warm, extremely comfortable, and looks fantastic. Practical pockets and an excellent hood with a visor are features every user will definitely appreciate. I use it both for duty and in the mountains, and it's also perfect for cycling on colder days.     Very nice, heavy fleece jumper. Well made. It does come up big! Good sale price, can be used as a jacket in spring and early autumn when the temperature is not below 10 degrees, but personally I find it lacks lower pockets for this purpose.

    The recent cold weather prompted me to purchase this item of clothing. It's wide enough that I can easily fit a hoodie, jumper, or fleece under it, although afterwards it’s quite difficult to put a jacket over it, so I generally wear it as an outer layer. The pockets under the armpits are OK, though overall there are more than I would like, and I haven’t yet found a use for the back pass-through pocket—sometimes I put gloves or a scarf in there. The fleece is very warm, comfortable, has a solid hood and a nice colour. I highly recommend it.

    I own the MK2 version of this fleece which I really like but I was always really interested what the first version was like. This version is a little thicker than the MK2 and there for slightly warmer I also think that this version is maybe a bit better for backpacking if your pack has a hip belt because the pockets are well positioned to allow you to access them still. I actually prefer the cuffs on this version as they are adjustable and sizing wise I have the MK2 in 3XL and this version ins 2XL and they both fit perfectly. Highly recommended I will be taking this on a camping trip next week and I am looking forward to using it.

    The Polar Patriot is incredibly warm and comfortable – it performed excellently during several tougher trips. The back pocket, which closes with a zip (accessible from both sides), turned out to be very practical, even when I needed to carry a few small groceries.     The fleece was purchased mainly with the shooting range and work in mind. It performs excellently – it is thick, retains heat well, and the zip goes right up to the neck, providing protection for that area. The pockets are very functional for carrying various things; I personally keep extra magazines in them (because four on the belt isn’t enough). The jacket also features mesh-zipped vents, which positively affect ventilation. I definitely recommend it to all fleece lovers. Helikon has once again risen to the challenge!

    The fleece is comfortable and very warm. It also has plenty of pockets, so you can store a lot in them. When it comes to sizes, there is a bit of a problem, because I have another fleece in size L and it is a bit tight in the shoulders, whereas this one in size XL is a bit too big. I recommend ordering two sizes and returning the one that fits less well.
