XRG RX80 XP-L Rechargeable Torch - 800 lumens

A solid torch equipped with an XP-L LED, generating a light output of 800 lumens with a range of up to 300 meters.

Aluminum body, IPX-4 rating, glass breaker

The body is made of anodized aluminum, ensuring durability and resistance to damage. Anti-slip grooves improve grip security. The IPX-4 rating protects against light rain from any direction. The LED is shielded by tempered glass, which is scratch-resistant and offers high transparency. The adjustable head allows beam diameter regulation— a narrow beam effectively illuminates distant objects, while a wide beam is ideal for short distances. A glass breaker is integrated into the rear of the body, allowing emergency window breaking in a vehicle or building.

5 lighting modes

The torch offers 5 work modes: High Power, Mid Power, Low Power, Strobe, and SOS. Intuitive operation is ensured by a single button located before the head, which allows switching the torch on, changing modes, and turning it off.

Hybrid power supply, USB charging, battery level indicator

The torch supports a 26650 battery, a 18650 battery (with a plastic sleeve), or three AAA batteries (with an adapter included in the set). Batteries and rechargeable cells are not included. The batteries can be charged directly inside the torch via a USB port. Full charging takes between 2 and 3 hours, depending on battery capacity. A LED indicator in the button displays the battery charge level.

Wrist strap

A wrist strap is included for convenient carrying.

The torch seems solid and substantial. However, it's too heavy for everyday carrying (except perhaps for self-defence purposes). The light has a very cold colour temperature. Compared to my other torches rated at 1000 lumens, this one probably does not reach the stated 800 lumens – in my opinion, it's closer to 400–500 lumens. The claimed range of 300 metres also seems to be exaggerated. Nevertheless, it's sufficient to illuminate a cellar, yard or road well, and walking through a dark forest is perfectly comfortable. The zoom mechanism works correctly and smoothly; you can easily notice the beam focusing on distant objects. The biggest advantage is the ability to use various types of batteries and rechargeable cells. The only thing lacking is information on whether NiMH batteries can be charged directly in the torch. The plastic insert seems more suited to AAA batteries than 18650 cells – the cell does not sit firmly in it. Overall, for this price, as an emergency torch for the car, home or cellar – definitely worth it.

The torch stopped working already on the second use. After charging the batteries and replacing them, it still does not turn on, even after installing new ones. When it did work, it gave good light for the price and had a long range.

The torch is definitely worth recommending, especially at this price. Large and massive, but still comfortable to use. Operation is intuitive, light is bright and pleasant.

The torch is solid and durable, it could even be used for self-defence or hammering nails. That's both an advantage and a disadvantage, because it's quite heavy and not really suitable for carrying in your pocket.

I have mixed feelings. The torch is OK for its price, but seems a bit too big to me (that's just my subjective opinion). I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be better to pay a bit more and get something of higher quality.

Mixed feelings – great torch, but made with typical Chinese flaws. Advantage is the solid, metal body. Optics are fine, beam adjustment too. Cool light colour. During operation, even at full power, the body does not heat up much (which is not actually a drawback). The torch is not very bright, but it’s sufficient for touring use. The disadvantage is no advanced electronics — most likely current regulation is done by a simple resistor, so brightness falls quickly and then stays at a lower level for a long time. The torch remembers the last mode, but if you turn it off too quickly, it goes into brightness change. The button is too light, no safety feature, so it may get switched on accidentally in a bag. The 18650 holder is too loose, so you have to wrap the battery, e.g. with paper. Plus for the battery adapter. In summary, despite the flaws, for this price – excellent.

When it comes to the price we're paying for the torch, you shouldn't expect miracles, but the overall build and light are just fine. I recommend it for DIY work.

The torch shines brightly and is solidly built, but I have one serious reservation: even the largest battery rattles inside, which means the light goes out with sudden movements. After putting some aluminium foil at the end, it now works correctly.

Solid torch, fits well in the hand. You just need to be careful with the sensitive button, which is easy to press. For the focus adjustment, you just need to slide it out – no need to twist, as someone wrote.

For little money, the torch provides quite good illumination; an advantage is the ability to adjust the light beam. The build quality is good, but after a few months of occasional use, it stopped working—sometimes it lights up for a moment, then turns off.

In its price category, this torch has no equal. It has a solid body finished with a sturdy glass breaker. The front part allows adjustment, so you can set the beam width.

Very good torch, strong light, wide beam adjustment. At this price, it's hard to find anything better. Together with the battery, it makes a great set.

The torch looks very sturdy and the build quality is high. Perfect for home use, but I think it will also work well in the mountains. The range of lens adjustment is interesting.

At first the torch made a good impression—it was solidly built and comfortable to hold. Unfortunately, with longer use, serious flaws appeared. The head responsible for adjusting the beam was too loose and would not hold its position. The biggest disappointment was the product failing after a month of intensive use. I wanted to use it in the military and for further service, but it didn't last that long. It does have some advantages such as an adapter for standard batteries, water resistance, wrist strap, and a window breaker, but the main disadvantages outweighed them.

At this price, you can't expect miracles. The torch works well, with an 18650 battery it shines for a long time, the focus adjustment is quite loose, you can operate it with one finger, which is very convenient. The illuminated switch is an additional advantage at night.
