I haven’t had the chance to use them daily yet, but after the initial tests I can see the lenses are excellent — they reproduce colours very well and provide sharpness, even when looking at a monitor. The quality difference compared to an older model from this company is noticeable. The frames have a nice matt colour and the temples are short. Not everyone will like this shape, although you can secure them with a strap. The glasses stay on the head quite well, although I think with the additional anti-fog insert it’s better to have a strap, especially on a motorcycle or bicycle. Overall I recommend them, but rather for people with a small or medium head — for a bigger head I would choose a different model, but one with these lenses.
Comfortable, well-fitting safety glasses with polarization. The mechanical strength of the glass allows you to protect your eyes from shrapnel, ricochets and other incoming objects, meeting the requirements of class F (protects against objects weighing 0.86 g moving at 45 m/s).
Wiley X is one of the leading suppliers of eye protection for the United States military, athletes and people who are active outdoors.
The frames are made of durable Triloid. Their shape ensures a good fit and does not restrict comfort when using headphones or ear protectors. Rubber, non-slip temples and nose pads ensure that the glasses sit firmly on the face. The detachable Facial Cavity Seal cap makes the glasses fit snugly on the face, protecting against wind or dust, among other things.
The Gravity Captivate model provides protection for the eyes, both from mechanical injury and harmful effects of intense light. The frames as well as the lenses of the glasses are made with HVP (High Velocity Protection) technology. As a result, they protect the eyes from injuries that can be caused by objects moving at high speeds.
The lenses are made of durable Selenite polymer that meets the ANSI ballistic protection standard, EN166 F. Polarized lenses made with Captivate technology provide eye protection against harmful UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays. In addition, they equalize the visible light spectrum so that light reaches the eye more evenly . They maintain neutral colors while enhancing greens. They reduce glare and enhance contrast and color in outdoor environments. The glasses provide light transmission of 15%.
The set includes:
- glasses,
- Facial Cavity Seal cap,
- elastic strap,
- adjustable strap with stopwatch,
- cleaning cloth,
- case.

My previous Oakley glasses still work well, even though they've been around for years. I've become a little bored with them, and since they're already scratched and not very fashionable, I decided it was time for something new. I was looking for sunglasses that would be durable, versatile and polarised, and also provided good protection at the sides so that the glare wouldn’t blind me when driving. When I first put on the Wiley X Gravity with Captivate Polarized Grey lenses, I was impressed. On a sunny day, the image was incredibly clear and sharp, and the colours were vivid — much better than in my several-year-old Oakleys. The difference in image quality is down to technological advances. Unfortunately, the glasses turned out to be a bit too tight for my larger head, they slipped off my nose slightly and with the additional gasket they didn’t fit my face as well. I ended up sending them back and I’m getting a larger model of Wiley X with the same lenses, because I liked them a lot and don’t want to wait for a refund.
