Wiley X Gravity Tactical Glasses - Captivate Polarized Grey Matte Black

Comfortable, lightweight, and well-fitted tactical glasses. The lenses are resistant to mechanical damage, providing eye protection from shards, ricochets, and other flying objects. They meet the requirements of Class F (provide protection against objects weighing 0.86 g moving at a speed of 45 m/s).

Wiley X is one of the leading suppliers of eye protection for the US military, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Frames made from Triloid material

Frames made from Triloid nylon, and lenses made from shatterproof Selenite polycarbonate, meet the ballistic protection standards ANSI Z87.1+ and EN166 F. The shape of the frames ensures a good fit without compromising comfort when wearing headphones or hearing protectors. Rubber, non-slip temples and nose pads ensure stable placement of the glasses on the face. A detachable Facial Cavity Seal ensures the glasses fit snugly to the face, protecting against wind and dust.

Polycarbonate lenses with a t-shell coating and Captivate technology

Lenses with 15% light transmission and a CAPTIVATE polarising filter placed between the lens layers concentrate light on one plane on sunny days, filter out the blinding glare of the sun, increase brightness, and improve depth perception. The eyes are protected from harmful ultraviolet UVA and UVB rays, as well as blue light (HEV). On cloudy and rainy days, the glasses improve the contrast of objects, significantly enhancing vision quality, ensuring clear and full viewing comfort. They are recommended for drivers, skiers, anglers, and tourists.

Anti-reflective coating reduces distracting light reflections, preventing rays from bouncing back to the eyes, distorting the image, or causing irritation. This results in a clearer view than standard Captivate lenses. The lenses feature a T-Shell Scratch coating that prevents scratches. Oleophobic coating protects the lens from dust, dirt, oil, snow, and water adhesion.

Superb black sunglasses from the Wiley X brand. I particularly appreciate the Gravity series because they offer us robust and very stylish glasses. The ability to change the lenses yourself is really an advantage!! This is an item I highly recommend!

Great, comfortable and sturdy glasses that offer very good vision quality. Purchased both for knife training and outdoor activities, they work perfectly. They sit stably on the head, do not slip or cause discomfort. I definitely recommend them.

I haven’t had the chance to use them daily yet, but after the initial tests I can see the lenses are excellent — they reproduce colours very well and provide sharpness, even when looking at a monitor. The quality difference compared to an older model from this company is noticeable. The frames have a nice matt colour and the temples are short. Not everyone will like this shape, although you can secure them with a strap. The glasses stay on the head quite well, although I think with the additional anti-fog insert it’s better to have a strap, especially on a motorcycle or bicycle. Overall I recommend them, but rather for people with a small or medium head — for a bigger head I would choose a different model, but one with these lenses.

My previous Oakley glasses still work well, even though they've been around for years. I've become a little bored with them, and since they're already scratched and not very fashionable, I decided it was time for something new. I was looking for sunglasses that would be durable, versatile and polarised, and also provided good protection at the sides so that the glare wouldn’t blind me when driving. When I first put on the Wiley X Gravity with Captivate Polarized Grey lenses, I was impressed. On a sunny day, the image was incredibly clear and sharp, and the colours were vivid — much better than in my several-year-old Oakleys. The difference in image quality is down to technological advances. Unfortunately, the glasses turned out to be a bit too tight for my larger head, they slipped off my nose slightly and with the additional gasket they didn’t fit my face as well. I ended up sending them back and I’m getting a larger model of Wiley X with the same lenses, because I liked them a lot and don’t want to wait for a refund.
