Texar Desert Ghost Boots - Khaki

Online purchase, the parcel arrived without haste. I had a choice of four models of shoes in sizes 41 and 42 (my foot: 27.3cm, normal width). Subjectively, I rate them from worst to best: 1. Texar Desert Ghost – Khaki: I liked these the least (unusual colour), sizing runs large, both pairs too small. Solid shoes, regular insole, average comfort, hard sole like in Kupczak MON. 2. Texar Stinger – Khaki: Nicer than the previous ones, neat. Size matches the chart. 41 is a tad too small and should adjust over time with a sock, 42 is already too big. Good workmanship, moderate comfort, hard sole as well. 3. KOMBAT uk PRO 50/50 (bought elsewhere): in my opinion, the best-looking of the lot. Sizes spot on: 41 perfect with a sock, 42 a bit loose with a thicker one. More comfortable than Texar, less hard sole, decent heel reinforcement. 4. Bates Tactical Sport 2 Desert: winner of the comparison, though the look isn’t stunning. Sizing runs small. I chose 41, a bit loose with a thin sock, perfect with a medium one. Very good quality, and once you put them on, these shoes beat all the others hands down – perfect fit, you don't feel them on your foot, good insole, extremely flexible sole. If someone is wondering whether it's worth adding about 150 PLN for the Bates Tactical Sport 2 model, in my opinion, it's definitely worth it!

I tested the shoes during a walking trip along the Polish seaside from Kołobrzeg to Ustka, mostly on the beach and in sand, where they were often wet. The shoes weren't damaged, the zip works perfectly, nothing fell apart or cracked. I wanted to waterproof them, but I forgot to buy the spray.

I have some concerns about the zip, I'm afraid it might move. For now everything is fine, they are comfortable and solid, and the guys also say they're easy to clean. We'll see how they perform after the first use.

Very good shoe. Comfortable, the right height, moderately breathable. Good build quality.

I bought them a year ago for 249 PLN and can confidently recommend them. They have accompanied me for over 300 km through forests, swamps, the Tatras and Bieszczady. I didn't bother with impregnation or greasing. They perform excellently, are very comfortable and breathe well. The zip is really convenient – instead of lacing, you just use the zip.

Great shoes, they look better in real life than in the photo. The size matches the chart – just use the size chart and measure your foot to avoid problems. I did this and everything fits.

The boots match the description – durable, comfortable and they quickly adapt to your feet. Easy to keep clean. The side zip is a great solution.

Very good boots, the only problem I had was with the size – I usually wear size 44, but with Texar I had to swap for size 45.

The shoes work well in the mountains, even in winter. After many hours of walking, they stay fresh, especially if you use ski socks. It's worth waterproofing them so you can easily cross streams.

The boots are well made and look very nice. The zip is very practical – it helps you put the boots on or take them off quickly. Field test still ahead of me.

After putting them on, the boots seem very comfortable, we'll see how they handle off-road after the first outing. They arrived as described, although there was a small black mark on the inside of the tongue – other than that, no complaints. At this price, it's hard to find anything better.
