Texar Desert Ghost Boots - Khaki

Purchase via the internet, the package didn't arrive quickly. I had a choice of four models of shoes in sizes 41 and 42 (my foot: 27.3cm, normal width). Subjectively, I rate from worst to best: 1. Texar Desert Ghost – Khaki: my least favorite (unusual color), sizing was overestimated, both pairs too small. Solid shoes, regular insert, average comfort, hard sole like in Kupczak MON. 2. Texar Stinger – Khaki: nicer than the previous ones, sleek. Size matches the chart. 41 is slightly too small, should fit over time with a sock, 42 is already too big. Well made, average comfort, sole also hard. 3. KOMBAT uk PRO 50/50 (bought elsewhere): in my opinion, the nicest of the bunch. Sizes spot on: 41 perfect with a sock, 42 a bit roomy with a thicker one. More comfortable than Texar, less stiff sole, decent heel reinforcement. 4. Bates Tactical Sport 2 Desert: winner of the comparison, though the looks aren't stunning. Sizing runs small. I chose 41, a little room with thin socks, perfect with medium ones. Very good quality, and once worn, these shoes beat the rest – perfect fit, you don't feel them on your foot, good insole, extremely flexible sole. If you're wondering whether it's worth paying about 150 PLN extra for the Bates Tactical Sport 2 model, in my opinion, it's definitely worth it!

I tested the shoes during a hike along the Polish seaside from Kołobrzeg to Ustka, mostly on the beach and in sand, where they were often wet. The shoes held up well, the zipper works flawlessly, nothing came apart or cracked. I wanted to waterproof them, but I forgot to buy the product.

I have some concerns about the zipper, I'm afraid it might shift. For now, everything is fine, it's comfortable and solid, and the guys also say it's easy to clean. We'll see how it works after the first use.

I bought them a year ago for 249 PLN and I can confidently recommend them. They have gone more than 300 km with me through forests, swamps, the Tatra and Bieszczady mountains. I didn't bother with waterproofing or greasing. They're doing great, very comfortable and breathable. The zipper is a big convenience – instead of lacing up, just use the zipper.

Great shoes, they look better in person than in the photo. The size matches the chart – just use the size chart and measure your foot to avoid problems. I did this and everything fits.

Shoes as described – durable, comfortable, and they adapt quickly to your foot. They’re easy to keep clean. The side zipper is a great solution.

Very good shoes, the only problem I had was with the size — I usually wear 44, but I had to exchange Texar for 45.

The shoes work well in the mountains, even in winter. After many hours of walking, they maintain their freshness, especially if you use ski socks. It's worth waterproofing them to cross streams easily.

The shoes are solidly made and look very nice. The zipper is very practical – it helps you put on or take off the shoes quickly. I still have to test them in the field.

After putting them on they seem very comfortable, we'll see how they perform in the field after the first trip. They arrived as described, although there was a small black spot on the inside of the tongue – apart from that, I have no complaints. It's hard to find anything better at this price.
