I chose the version without Gore-Tex because I bought the shoes mainly for spring, summer, and autumn. I have been using them for half a year now, and they are really very durable, especially compared to the lighter Zephyrs. The Vibram sole is hard but flexible – you don’t feel small stones or twigs like you do in trekking shoes. The footwear is very comfortable, quite wide, and gives the impression of being very solid. They dry quickly after getting wet, which is a big advantage, and the breathability works well during hot weather. The laces are durable, don’t come undone, and the lock above the ankle has its pros and cons – it’s hard to take the shoes off quickly, so it’s best to wear them all day. The reinforcement at the toes is reminiscent of safety footwear – it protects your toes well. The insoles can be easily replaced, e.g., with Meindl models for little money.

The boot is very well made and provides excellent stability for the foot. The sole guarantees good grip on various surfaces. For me, the lack of a membrane is an advantage, which is exactly what I was looking for in this model. I definitely recommend it.

The shoes are great for me; there’s no need to break them in, as they are comfortable straight away. The sizes run large – my foot is 29 cm and I bought size 46, but 45 would have been better. I kept this size because there’s a metal plate in the toe like in work boots, so I add an extra insole and thick sock, as I need it to be soft due to a broken toe and a protruding bone. I definitely recommend them!
