Very good radio – compact, with a practical case that you can throw into your backpack without worrying about the safety of the equipment, and the USB cable is always at hand. It's lightweight, provides good shortwave reception, and the volume is controlled using the compass. The crank works flawlessly, I haven't tested the solar panels yet. The alarm has a very loud sound, and the power bank is more than enough in emergencies. Bluetooth is another advantage. I definitely recommend it!
JB Tacticals JB-08 Emergency Radio - Green
The green emergency radio is a compact device designed for crisis situations, combining a FM/AM/SW/WB radio, LED flashlight, power bank, and Bluetooth 5.0. It features a 4000 mAh battery and includes both a solar panel and hand crank (dynamo), allowing operation without access to mains power. It performs well during camping, power outages, or emergencies, providing energy, light, and information.
Durable housing, indicators, buttons, compass
The housing is made of durable plastic resistant to impact and moisture. The solar panel is located at the back, above which there are buttons: Next, Play/Pause, Previous, SOS Alert, and Emergency Power Output Switch.
The front features a tuning knob, speaker, and frequency indicator, with function indicators positioned above.
On top, there is a volume knob with a built-in compass, and on the side – a hand crank for generating power.
The BAND, MODE, SET, and LIGHT buttons control the radio, operation modes, and flashlight. The layout ensures convenient operation even in difficult outdoor conditions.
radio, telescopic antenna, white noise
The model supports a wide frequency range, enabling reception on FM, AM, SW1–SW7, and WB (NOAA weather channels). The FM band lets you listen to local music and news stations, AM is suitable for long-range broadcasts, while SW1–SW7 shortwave bands provide access to international transmissions. The WB band delivers forecasts and weather alerts from meteorological services. Tuning can be manual or digital, and the built-in telescopic antenna ensures stable reception in the field.
The device includes a White Noise feature, playing seven natural sounds such as ocean waves, rain, fire crackling, or wind. It helps with relaxation, sleep, and stress reduction both at home and outdoors.
LED flashlight, SOS signal
The 120-lumen LED flashlight effectively illuminates the surroundings after dark or during power outages. The reflector emits a focused beam of light, making navigation easier in the field.
A SOS button activates a flashing light and audible SOS alarm. The strong warning signal allows the user to call for help, increasing safety in emergency situations.
Built-in battery, solar panel, dynamo
The radio features a built-in 4000 mAh lithium-ion battery that ensures long operation without frequent recharging. It can be powered in three ways: via USB-C port, solar panel, or hand-crank generator (dynamo). Turning the crank generates energy to recharge the battery in emergencies, while the solar panel replenishes it during the day, allowing use anywhere, far from electrical networks.
Powerbank function, microSD slot, Bluetooth 5.0
The JB-08 includes a power bank function for charging mobile devices outdoors. The built-in 4000 mAh battery powers the USB-A port for connecting a phone, flashlight, or other electronics. Charging is done through the USB-C port, ensuring quick recharging. The device also includes a microSD (TF) slot, 3.5 mm AUX input for wired sound sources, and a Bluetooth 5.0 module for wireless audio playback from a phone or tablet. All ports are protected by a rubber cover against dust and moisture.

This is already my third emergency radio and so far the best with an exceptional design, a ton of features, good reception, and very good sound. The BT transmission from the phone works flawlessly and the solar panel is larger than most comparable radios—though it's meant more for maintaining the charge rather than actually charging. I haven’t tested charging with the crank and playing via TF card yet. So why only 4 stars? Like all products, this one isn’t perfect and I still have a wishlist: - An additional option to operate the radio with AA or AAA batteries, even if this would make it a bit larger and heavier. - An easy and documented way to be able to replace the internal battery if necessary. - Today, a lot is broadcast over DAB+; I don’t know if that would be used more than FM in an emergency, but it would be nice if the radio could also receive DAB+. However, as far as I know, there is no emergency radio on the market that can receive SW/AM and DAB+, but if there’s DAB+, then only with FM. - Some emergency radios have an SW band from 3.2 to 22.0 MHz instead of 'just' 5.7 to 17.9 MHz. But I must admit I don’t know if you can actually receive a station on the frequencies below 5.7 and above 17.9 MHz. - The 7 'natural' sounds are supposed to be calming. But here you really notice that the speaker isn’t that great—the sounds don’t actually sound natural. The loop is also too short. Some soothing artificial music with a loop > 1 minute would, in my opinion, be better. - The buttons for playback control are arranged upside down. - The description says there’s a '3.5-mm AUX input for wired audio sources.' That’s not true; it’s actually a (quite good and much more important) headphone output (according to the manual and testing). But an additional 3.5mm input would, of course, be the icing on the cake.

The radio meets my requirements. It's compact, lightweight, and easily fits in a backpack, and the sound is of good quality. Additionally, it's important to me that it has a headphone jack.

This emergency radio seems to be quite sturdy enough to accompany you on all your trips in remote areas. Delivered in a small padded box, it will be useful to you in the most difficult conditions. The design is quite original... A must-have!!

An interesting radio, it stands out among others that I own. I initially bought it with the idea of carrying it in my backpack, but now it accompanies me at work and plays music. It surprises with its unusual design and numerous features, and the battery really lasts a long time (at least at the beginning of use). I have no complaints so far because it does its job. It allows music playback via Bluetooth, FM radio, and AM. I haven't yet used all the device's capabilities (additionally, in a big city, especially between tall buildings, it's not possible to test everything). Cool feature: I didn't know how to increase the volume, but it turned out you just have to turn the compass to change it.
