Leatherman ARC Talos Multitool

Multitool Leatherman ARC is the first tool on the market with a blade made from modern CPM MagnaCut powder steel. Thanks to this solution, the blade features excellent sharpness retention, high durability, and very good corrosion resistance. Sharpening this steel is much simpler than with other alloys of similar hardness. The blade is coated with a black PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating, providing additional corrosion protection and reducing glare.

The Talos version is distinguished by arms coated with a Cerakote finish in brown. The product is covered by a 25-year warranty.

Solid stainless steel framework, FREE technology

The construction and tools are made from 420 stainless steel, which has undergone specialised heat treatment, ensuring each component has optimal hardness. The multitool arms are coated with a brown Cerakote finish, characterised by high scratch resistance and providing corrosion protection and glare reduction.

The Arc model utilises FREE technology, which includes magnetic inserts in the arms, stabilising the tool in the folded position. The appropriately chosen magnet strength and precise element fit allow for easy one-handed opening of the multitool.

main blade made of CPM MagnaCut steel

In the Arc model, the knife blade made from wear-resistant CPM MagnaCut stainless steel catches attention, which is practically unseen in typical multitools. Using high-quality steel, combined with one-handed opening capability, makes the Leatherman Arc a real alternative to classic folding knives. This steel combines high abrasion and corrosion resistance with an optimal level of impact toughness. The blade is hardened to a hardness of 60-63 HRC and coated with a black PVD coating. It is opened using a thumb stud located on the blade.

Simple opening, Tools equipped with lock

Deploying tools in the ARC model is extremely simple – just gently push the edge with your thumb to slide them out from between the arms, then select and unfold the tool you wish to use.

All folding tools in the arms are secured with internal locking system locks, ensuring smooth operation and secure locking.

CPM MagnaCut feature
CPM MagnaCut
CPM MagnaCut is a stainless tool steel developed by Crucible Industries and produced using powder metallurgy (CPM). It is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, and very good corrosion resistance, despite its relatively low chromium content (10.7%). The steel is comparable to the best tool steels, such as CPM-4V or Vanadis 4E, offering high resistance to cracking and chipping. Thanks to the use of free chromium and carbides formed mainly by vanadium (4%), CPM MagnaCut is less brittle and resistant to abrasion, even with a hardness of 60-64 HRC. In addition, the presence of niobium (2%) and molybdenum (2%) ensures stability at high temperatures, making the steel ideal for harsh working conditions. The composition of CPM MagnaCut also includes 1.15% carbon, which ensures adequate hardness and edge durability, making this steel valued in the manufacture of tools and weapons.
420 feature
420
420 is a martensitic stainless steel often used in cutlery, especially in kitchen knives, EDC, and budget outdoor models. It is characterized by a relatively low carbon content (0.16-0.25%), which allows for a hardness range of 54-57 HRC, ensuring easy sharpening and resistance to chipping. Chromium (12-14%) provides good corrosion resistance, making the steel suitable for use in humid conditions. Silicon and manganese additives (up to 1%) improve strength and hardenability, while low sulfur and phosphorus content reduce the brittleness of the material. 420 steel is valued for its high corrosion resistance, relatively high impact strength (resistance to cracks and chipping), and low processing costs. Thanks to its ease of machining and polishing, it is popular in the production of low- and mid-range knives.
Cerakote feature
Cerakote
Cerakote is an advanced ceramic-polymer coating applied to knife blades to increase their durability and give them a distinctive appearance. It forms a thin, opaque layer that does not alter the geometry or balance of the blade, while ensuring high durability. Its matte, non-reflective finish, available in a variety of colors, makes it a popular choice for tactical and outdoor knives. The coating is resistant to impact, chipping, and abrasion, effectively protecting the steel in demanding conditions. In corrosion tests (Salt Spray ASTM B-117), it retains its properties for thousands of hours, protecting the blade from rust and oxidation. It is also resistant to chemicals, including cleaning agents and solvents.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.
Leatherman FREE feature
Leatherman FREE
FREE technology from Leatherman is an innovative system based on internal magnets that allows for smooth, one-handed opening and closing of tools. The elements automatically move into the correct position, which increases convenience and speed of use. The design eliminates traditional springs, making the tool more durable and resistant to wear and tear. All tools are easily accessible from the outside, without having to unfold the multitool.

As you would expect from Leatherman, the build quality is truly outstanding; the workmanship of the Leatherman Arc Talos feels noticeably more premium than that of all other Leatherman tools, by a wide margin. The tool set on the LM Arc is genuinely very well thought out, with everything you might need in everyday life. What naturally stands out is the Magnacut knife blade, which is not only razor-sharp but also stays that way for a very long time, and even when it does need sharpening, that can be done relatively easily. All in all, it’s a really great multitool that is worth the price!

I've had it for a few months, with elegant engraving. It's a versatile, solid and compact tool. The price may seem high, but in return you get a product that will last for many years and does not get damaged easily, and I have really tested it thoroughly myself.

Great product, although its price could be a bit lower. I really like its design; I have the Wave Plus model, but this one is definitely much better for me to use. In addition to the excellent blade steel, the Free technology makes it much easier to use.

Leatherman ARC Talos – robust multitool with excellent one-handed operation So far, I’m very satisfied with the Leatherman ARC Talos. Right from the start, the multitool makes an exceptionally robust and practical impression and, in my view, is excellent for outdoor use, bushcraft, camping, and everyday carry. The one-handed operation is particularly impressive. Thanks to the FREE system, the tools can be used very comfortably and quickly. After a short running-in period and a bit of oil on the joints and moving parts, the tools operate very smoothly. The build quality feels exceptionally high-end, and the entire tool gives the impression that it will hold up for a long time even under demanding use. The MagnaCut blade and the extensive feature set make the ARC Talos a very versatile tool. The only minor drawback for me is the weight. For a classic EDC, the ARC Talos is somewhat heavier, but it can still be carried comfortably and without issues on a belt. For bushcraft and outdoor use, weight plays a much smaller role anyway. I was also impressed by the order from Military.eu: delivery to Austria was exceptionally fast at only three days, making it the fastest delivery I’ve experienced so far when ordering from here. Conclusion: a high-quality, extremely robust, and functional multitool that absolutely justifies its price in my view. For outdoor and bushcraft use, but also as a premium EDC, I can recommend the ARC Talos without reservation.

It’s obviously clear that the Leatherman Arc is an outstanding product: I’m totally satisfied—the Leatherman feels incredibly premium and gives a solid, high-quality impression. I’m even more impressed by the seller, though. My Leatherman was delivered in just under 1.5 days, and that was with standard delivery. I’m really impressed by that speed… The price for the tool was unbeatable too. All in all: 5 out of 5 stars!!⭐️

Definitely Leatherman's best multitool. The one handed operation is great in a pinch and the whole thing feels smooth to use straight out of the box. The magnacut blade is wicked sharp and the quality of engraving offered by military.eu is fantastic!

Perfectly made equipment. It's better to pay a bit more and be sure you're getting a product of the highest quality. Both the appearance and the feel during use suggest it will last for many years. Despite initial hesitation about the price, I no longer have any doubts. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

At first, I was worried that it was a bit of a midlife-crisis gadget. On top of that, it costs an absurd amount, so I wondered who would even need it. After all, I already have screwdrivers, pliers, and a hammer, so I didn’t really know myself why I bought it. However, after half a year, I’m glad I always have it with me. If I lost it somewhere in the woods, I would order another one without hesitation. It’s solid and convenient, as long as you actually carry it with you. It has loads of advantages and really only four drawbacks, so I’ll focus on those: 1 - the hammer. It’s easy to hurt your hand with it during use, but despite that, it’s there and it works. 2 - the hammer. While using it, you can lose the bit (I lost one myself). 3 - the hammer. While using it, you can also lose the precision bit (I lost that too). 4 - the price. I also have the Signal, and there’s no point pretending otherwise - it’s a long way behind the Arc.

The multitool makes a very positive impression from the very first use. It is clear that solid materials were used in its production, which gives it rigidity and a sense of exceptional durability. The mechanisms work smoothly, and the locks are strong and stable, which translates to comfort and safety during use. The multitool's equipment is well thought out and works well both for household tasks and outdoors. The main blade is very sharp and retains its cutting properties for a long time. Despite having many functions, the multitool is not too large and is easy to carry in your pocket or on your belt. It is an excellent option for people who need a solid and durable tool. I highly recommend it to anyone who values high quality.

You can't go wrong with a Leatherman – the tool is very sturdy and extremely practical. The case looks excellent. The additional interchangeable tools included in the set were a pleasant surprise. I considered buying it in the United States because it's more expensive in Poland, but here the price includes accessories that are not included when buying from the USA. I found out that the Arc model and other Leatherman tools are sometimes offered on promotion once a year. Because of this, it’s worth waiting for a good deal!

In my opinion, this is not only the best multitool in Leatherman, but overall. It has a wonderful three-system that works flawlessly, where you can really access everything with one hand, open and close the multitool to use the pliers, get out the knife holder or anything else. Truly a fantastic multitool. In my opinion, the best.

Leatherman has released a truly excellent multitool. I am impressed with the build quality and the opening mechanism of the device. This is my second favourite model, right after the Wave+ Polish Army edition. I didn’t choose the set with bits and sheath in the silver version, but I think the Talos colour fully makes up for it :) I highly recommend it!

The pliers are very good and functional. A big advantage is the convenient access to the tools and the pliers themselves, which definitely justifies the price, just like the excellent quality of materials and finish. I also have the Surge model, which is noticeably heavier and is used differently.

This is an extremely solid multitool, and the photos do not do justice to its build quality. The package was heavier than I expected, and the tool itself surprised me with its excellent build quality when taken out of the box. The price is high, but the high-quality steel and comfort of use partially compensate for it. I definitely recommend it – it’s clear it will last for years.
