Helikon-Tex Patriot Fleece - Jungle Green

Black fleece jacket with a zip providing thermal insulation in low temperatures, while effectively wicking away excess heat and moisture generated during exertion. Helikon-Tex Patriot made from high-quality fleece with a grammage of 380 g/m2. The loose fit allows for wearing an additional, thinner sweatshirt and further insulating layers. The back of the jacket is slightly elongated, providing protection for the kidneys from the wind, and the entire jacket is designed to allow easy access to pockets and equipment worn on the trouser belt.

Breathable fleece

Fleece, made of 100% fast-drying polyester with a grammage of 380 g/m2, features a high level of insulation and breathability, which allows moisture to be wicked away, minimizing the risk of chilling. The material is durable and resistant to damage, making the jacket suitable for use in extreme terrain conditions, such as hiking or tactical activities. Additional reinforcements on the elbows enhance its abrasion resistance.

Adjustable hood

The extended hood protects against cold and wind. Its large size allows wearing a winter cap without restricting head movements. Equipped with a soft visor that prevents water from dripping onto the face. The hood is sewn to the collar in a way that prevents the neck from being exposed, and it is adjusted with elastic cords, allowing the hood to be fitted according to needs.

Spacious pockets

The jacket is equipped with six spacious and thoughtfully placed pockets:

  • two on the chest
  • two on the shoulders
  • one on the left forearm
  • one pass-through at the back above the hips

Pockets are closed with solid and reliable YKK zippers, finished with fabric tapes to facilitate use even with thick gloves. Inside the chest pockets, there is a divider for a phone and holes for threading cables, e.g., for headphones.

Velcro panels, adjustable cuffs, and elastic drawstring

Velcro panels (hook and loop) are placed on the shoulders, allowing for the attachment of patches, insignias, unit emblems, or so-called Morale Patches. Sleeves equipped with hook and loop adjustable cuffs allow for width adjustment. There is an elastic drawstring at the waist, which prevents the lower part of the jacket from being lifted by wind and losing heat.

    I'm not sure if this fleece needs any more recommendations, as I think everyone has already noticed its strengths. It's very warm, extremely comfortable, and looks fantastic.     I own the MK2 version of this fleece which I really like but I was always really interested what the first version was like. This version is a little thicker than the MK2 and there for slightly warmer I also think that this version is maybe a bit better for backpacking if your pack has a hip belt because the pockets are well positioned to allow you to access them still. I actually prefer the cuffs on this version as they are adjustable and sizing wise I have the MK2 in 3XL and this version ins 2XL and they both fit perfectly. Highly recommended I will be taking this on a camping trip next week and I am looking forward to using it.

    The fleece was purchased mainly with the shooting range and work in mind. It performs excellently – it is thick, retains heat well, and the zip goes right up to the neck, providing protection for that area. The pockets are very functional for carrying various things; I personally keep extra magazines in them (because four on the belt isn’t enough). The jacket also features mesh-zipped vents, which positively affect ventilation. I definitely recommend it to all fleece lovers. Helikon has once again risen to the challenge!

    The fleece is comfortable and very warm. It also has plenty of pockets, so you can store a lot in them. When it comes to sizes, there is a bit of a problem, because I have another fleece in size L and it is a bit tight in the shoulders, whereas this one in size XL is a bit too big. I recommend ordering two sizes and returning the one that fits less well.

    This sweatshirt resembles a softshell jacket, only it is made of fleece. It has the same kind of pockets, drawstrings, and similar style. I’ve heard the sizing is quite generous, so it’s worth paying attention when choosing the size. This is the first version of the Helikon fleece and the number of positive reviews speaks for itself.
