Helikon-Tex Patriot Fleece - Jungle Green

Black fleece jacket with a zipper, providing thermal insulation in low temperatures, while effectively wicking away excess heat and moisture generated during exertion. Helikon-Tex Patriot made of high-quality fleece with a grammage of 380 g/m2. Thanks to the loose fit, it is possible to wear an additional, thinner jacket and further insulating layers. The back of the jacket has been slightly lengthened to provide protection to the kidneys from the wind, while the entire jacket is designed to allow easy access to pockets and gear worn on the trouser belt.

Breathable fleece

Fleece, made of 100% quick-drying polyester with a grammage of 380 g/m2, features a high level of insulation and breathability, allowing moisture to be wicked away, minimizing the risk of cooling. The material is durable and resistant to damage, making the jacket suitable for use in extreme field conditions such as hiking or tactical operations. Additional reinforcements on the elbows enhance its resistance to abrasion.

Adjustable hood

Extended hood protects against cold and wind. Its large size allows wearing a winter hat without restricting head movement. Equipped with a soft visor to prevent water from running down onto the face. The hood is sewn onto the collar in a way that prevents exposure of the neck, and its adjustment is done through elastic cords, allowing the hood to be adjusted as needed.

Spacious pockets

The jacket is equipped with six spacious and thoughtfully placed pockets:

  • two on the chest
  • two on the shoulders
  • one on the left forearm
  • one pass-through behind the back above the hips

The pockets are closed with sturdy and reliable YKK zippers, finished with fabric tabs that facilitate use even with thick gloves. Inside the chest pockets, there is a divider for a phone and openings for threading wires, such as headphones.

Velcro panels, adjustable cuffs, and elastic drawstring

Velcro panels are placed on the shoulders, allowing patches, insignias, unit emblems, or so-called Morale Patches to be affixed. The sleeves are equipped with cuffs adjustable with Velcro, allowing for adjustment of their width. At the waist, there is an elastic drawstring that prevents the lower part of the jacket from being blown up and losing heat.

    The recent cold weather prompted me to buy this piece of clothing. It's wide enough that I can easily fit a sweatshirt, sweater, or fleece underneath, though it can be hard to put a jacket over it, so I usually wear it as an outer layer. The pockets under the arms are fine, although overall there are more pockets than I would prefer, and I haven't yet found a use for the one that goes across the back – sometimes I put gloves or a scarf there. The fleece is very warm, comfortable, has a good hood, and the color is nice. Highly recommended.

    I own the MK2 version of this fleece which I really like but I was always really interested what the first version was like. This version is a little thicker than the MK2 and there for slightly warmer I also think that this version is maybe a bit better for backpacking if your pack has a hip belt because the pockets are well positioned to allow you to access them still. I actually prefer the cuffs on this version as they are adjustable and sizing wise I have the MK2 in 3XL and this version ins 2XL and they both fit perfectly. Highly recommended I will be taking this on a camping trip next week and I am looking forward to using it.

The back pocket with a zipper (accessible from both sides) turned out to be very practical, even when I needed to carry some small groceries.
