The ergonomically shaped, black handle is made from Zy-Ex and covered with Kray-Ex material, food-safe, with a non-slip texture. The set includes a sheath to facilitate carrying the knife.

The blade is made from 4116 Krupp stainless steel, subjected to cryogenic treatment (Cryo-Quenched), which increases the hardness and toughness of the material. The steel is characterised by corrosion resistance and is easy to sharpen.
Zy-Ex and Kray-Ex handle
The ergonomically shaped handle has a rigid core made of Zy-Ex and an outer coating of Kray-Ex material, food-safe. The non-slip texture of the scales enhances grip control.

Kray-Ex
Kray-Ex is a synthetic polymer with a rubber-like structure used by Cold Steel to manufacture knife handles. It is characterized by high adhesion and anti-slip properties, ensuring a secure grip even in high humidity, low temperatures, and with dirty hands. The material is flexible and absorbs shocks well, which increases comfort of use. Kray-Ex is also resistant to cracking, abrasion, chemicals, and adverse weather conditions, making handles made of this material durable and virtually maintenance-free. Cold Steel uses it in tactical, survival, and utility knives.
4116 Cryo Quenched
4116 Cryo Quenched is an improved version of 4116 stainless steel (DIN 1.4116), produced by ThyssenKrupp, subjected to additional cryogenic treatment, which improves its durability and mechanical properties. The carbon content (0.45-0.55%) ensures good hardness, while chromium (14-15%) provides corrosion resistance. The steel also contains molybdenum, vanadium, manganese, silicon, and nickel, which support its strength. The cryogenic process stabilizes the steel, increases wear resistance, and maintains sharpness for longer. After heat treatment, it reaches a hardness of 55-57 HRC, making it easy to maintain and resistant to corrosion. It is widely used in the production of kitchen knives and premium utility tools.
Zy-Ex
Zy-Ex is a composite material developed by Cold Steel, based on glass fiber reinforced polyamide. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and low water absorption, allowing it to retain its properties even under intensive use in harsh conditions. The material is lightweight yet very rigid, allowing for the construction of a solid handle without excessively increasing the weight of the knife. The surface of Zy-Ex is designed to imitate the structure of natural wood, which gives it an attractive appearance and improves grip. Thanks to the combination of these features, Zy-Ex is used in tactical, outdoor, and EDC knives.
