Zippo Butane Single Flame Lighter Insert

I own several Zippo lighters and for some time now I’ve been using gas inserts with a traditional flame. Now I decided to install an arc (plasma) insert in one of my Zippos, which works very well for everyday use. The downside of classic inserts is the evaporation of fuel and the need to refill it frequently, which can be bothersome. For people who use their lighter occasionally, this insert is an ideal solution. The lighter keeps its iconic click and attractive appearance, so it’s an interesting alternative. It’s worth remembering that these inserts only fit “regular” and “vintage” models, they won’t fit “slim” or “replica” versions due to a different case shape. The lighter always ignites with no problem. In my 2005 case the insert sits tightly, so it doesn’t fall out, but in newer models it can be looser and stick out slightly. Since the cases have different dimensions, sometimes it’s worth sliding a folded piece of paper underneath the insert for a better fit – especially for those just starting their Zippo journey.
