Volven Ultralight Self-inflating mat - Black

A single-person self-inflating mat made from 75D polyester, known for its high durability and resistance to abrasions and mechanical damage. Lightweight and resilient polyurethane foam and excellent thermal insulation at R-Value 2.9 provide effective protection against cold and uneven ground.

The model stands out with an insulating coefficient of R-Value 2.9, determined according to the ASTM F3340-18 standard. This parameter defines the degree of insulation from the ground - the higher the value, the better the limitation of heat loss.

Interpretation of R-Value used in the outdoor industry:

• 1.0-2.0 - intended for summer conditions (night temperatures above about 10 deg. C),
• 2.1-3.5 - spring, summer, and autumn usage (around 0-10 deg. C),
• 3.6-5.0 - in cool conditions, around 0 deg. C and negative temperatures up to about -5 / -10 deg. C,
• 5.1-7.0 - winter use, temperatures below 0 deg. C,
• above 7.0 - winter conditions with increased insulation requirements.

Actual thermal comfort depends on the sleep system (sleeping bag, clothing), type of ground, and user's individual cold resistance.

The mat is 3.8 cm thick, ensuring high comfort and effective insulation from uneven and cold ground. The outer layer of Honeycomb polyester material is characterised by good resistance to abrasions and damage. Inside is self-expanding PU foam, which automatically draws in air when the valve is unscrewed, giving the mat the right springiness. The risk of air escaping independently is minimised by a patented valve design.

Transport is facilitated by a compression strap with Velcro and a cover. The set also includes a repair kit.

When rolled up, the mat reaches compact dimensions of 29 x 14 cm, making it easy to fit in a backpack.
