Clip-Point blade, CRYO D2 steel, Framelock
Knife equipped with a Clip-Point profile blade made of CRYO D2 tool steel, covered with a protective oxidised layer. The heat treatment process of the steel is performed according to SOG's unique low-temperature performance specifications. The solid Framelock ensures the blade's safety in the open position. The blade is opened using a thumb stud and features an assisted opening system.
Stainless steel construction, convenient carrying
The tool's framework is made from stainless steel that has undergone special heat treatment, providing optimal hardness and durability. The model is equipped with a Bit Holder, which is secured in the fixed position by a magnet and pressure from the multitool's arms. The tool comes with a removable spring clip, allowing it to be attached to the edge of a pocket.

Cryo D2
D2 CRYO is an improved version of classic D2 steel, subjected to cryogenic treatment, i.e., deep cooling in liquid nitrogen after hardening, which increases its hardness, stability, and wear resistance. The steel stays sharp longer, is more stable, and more resistant to abrasion. After treatment, it achieves a hardness of 61-63 HRC, making it an ideal material for the production of knives that require a precise blade and exceptional durability. The chemical composition of the steel includes carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%).
Black Oxide
Black Oxide is a chemical conversion process in which a thin layer of magnetite (Fe3O4) is formed on the surface of steel and other ferrous metals. It gives a black, matte appearance, reduces reflectivity, and does not affect the dimensions of the components, so it can also be used in precision parts. The coating provides limited corrosion protection, so it is usually reinforced with oil or wax. Black Oxide is used in knives, firearms, and tools. The process requirements are specified in MIL-DTL-13924, which covers processing grades, color uniformity, and corrosion resistance tests, and is the basic standard for military and technical applications.
Compound Leverage
Compound Leverage is a mechanism with a double gear joint that multiplies the pressure generated when clamping the tool. Thanks to the mechanical transmission, it allows for greater grip and cutting force with less effort on the part of the user. This solution increases control over the tool, reduces the risk of slipping, and enables smooth, fast operation - even with one hand.

I have mixed feelings. I was tempted by its good reputation for quality, the opening mechanism known from the SOG Terminus, the innovative pliers and the way of mounting bits, as in the SOG PowerAccess. The attractive price during Black Week was also important – after all the discounts it cost 267 PLN, and that is the maximum this multitool is worth. The regular price (380 PLN) is definitely too high. The idea of assisted pliers and the D2 blade is great, but the execution doesn't impress. At first, the blade was stiff, but then it started to open on its own after unlocking the mechanism – it has become practically a spring-loaded knife! I gave up on returning it because the lock works well, so there's no risk of accidental opening. Unfortunately, the bit holder is a flop – it's hard to get a bit out without bending the plastic, which makes the solution poor. The bottle opener also leaves much to be desired – it opens and closes too easily in my opinion. In summary – I do not really recommend the SOG Flash MT.

The multitool is very practical and original in terms of appearance, which distinguishes it from other tools. It is comfortable to use and well made. I definitely recommend always having it with you, as it will handle any situation.
