It's a bit bigger than typical miniature compasses, but it still works great in emergencies or for everyday use. It accurately and fairly quickly determines the position. Besides... it looks very nice :)
The small, compact Ranger SL is the smallest of Silva's compass series. Thanks to its small size, it can easily serve as an emergency compass carried in a pocket or backpack.
The compass is equipped with a mirror to help you determine directions, a rotating dial with a 360-degree scale, a 40 mm long ruler and a sundial function that helps you determine the time based on the position of the sun. The rotating compass case makes it easy to navigate the Silva 1-2-3 system.
A cord for hanging is included in the set along with the compass.

Since 1933, the Swedish brand Silva has been providing reliable compasses, headlamps, and outdoor accessories that are valued by athletes, travelers, and professionals around the world. Its founders were the first to develop a liquid-filled compass, which revolutionized navigation by reducing the time needed to determine direction from 30 seconds to just 4 seconds and setting a new industry standard. Over the years, Silva has become known for its pioneering solutions - from global compass models and intelligent lighting systems to headlamps with a power output of up to 10000 lumens. The brand attaches great importance to sustainability - as exemplified by the Terra Scout series, which is made from recycled materials and hemp fibers. For over 90 years, Silva has been setting the standard in navigation and outdoor equipment.

This device is far superior in quality to cheap compasses. I definitely recommend it.

I have as many as three of these, they fit anywhere because they are very small and they always work flawlessly.

This device is light and compact, but precise enough to help you set the right course. It doesn't offer the same reliability as a button compass, which can give a false sense of security—in a crisis, its needle can spin in every direction and cause stress! I always keep the Silva Ranger SL safely stowed in my backpack.
