Silky F180-14 Folding Saw - Yellow

Folding hand saw from the renowned Japanese brand Silky, designed for precise wood cutting. Thanks to its blade with 84 teeth made of high-carbon SK-4 steel and an ergonomic handle with a non-slip finish, it performs excellently both in the garden and during fieldwork in the forest.

SK-4 carbon steel, chrome-plated blade, locking mechanism

The 180 mm blade is made of durable SK-4 carbon steel, known for its high resistance to mechanical damage such as cracking or chipping. A chrome-plated finish protects the blade against corrosion and moisture, significantly extending the tool's service life. The model is equipped with a blade lock that allows it to be set in two positions, improving comfort and safety during use.

Handle

The ergonomically shaped handle is made of a combination of polypropylene, rubber, and steel reinforcements. Rubber inserts improve grip stability and reduce vibrations during operation. A hole at the end of the handle makes it easy to attach a lanyard or carabiner, facilitating transport and storage of the tool.

Silky

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Silky.

Silky is a Japanese manufacturer of hand saws with a long tradition, dating back to 1919, when Katsuji Miyawaki founded the company in the city of Ono. For over a century, the brand has gained a reputation for reliability and precision, and its tools are distinguished by their exceptional quality. The saws are made of the highest quality steel and undergo impulse hardening technology, which, combined with a design intended for ‘pull’ cutting, ensures smooth operation and precise, clean cuts. In 1980, Silky patented its own saw setting process, which significantly increases the sharpness of the tools – this solution has been used in the 4-Retsume and Miraime2 models, among others. The Japanese manufacturer's solutions are used by professionals around the world: arborists, foresters, carpenters and bushcraft enthusiasts. It is worth mentioning that in 1985, the ‘Gomboy’ model was the first on the market to feature a rubber-coated handle, which contributed to it winning the prestigious Japanese Good Design Award. Thanks to the combination of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and modern technological solutions, Silky has been one of the leading manufacturers of hand saws for years.

Good equipment for this price. It cuts efficiently and I hope it will keep its sharpness for a long time. It can handle thicker pieces of wood, although it takes a bit more time. It bends slightly. I use only one blade setting – the other is not very comfortable for me.

Silky F180-14 folding saw - Yellow. Silky cuts even thicker wood, it's a pleasure to watch. However, you have to be careful not to break the blade. Other than that, this product is a 10/10.

Something wonderful. Even though most of it is made of plastic, even the lock button, the materials are very strong and solid. The Japanese know how to make cheaper equipment that still has great quality. The teeth are set closely together, which makes cutting comfortable. This is already my third Silky saw and definitely not my last. The design is very ergonomic and lightweight.

Good blade, works perfectly in the garden and for building a shelter in the field. It easily handles thicker branches and even trunks. The blade is lightweight and compact, easy to put in your pocket or bag. It has become a permanent part of my equipment.

Great saw – light, just the right size. It handles even thicker pieces of wood with ease. The Silky brand means top quality among saws – I have several models and all are reliable, like the Rolls-Royce of saws.

Cuts incredibly quickly. A good blade does the job, even handles wet wood. Excellent for various tidy-up jobs in the orchard or garden. The yellow housing is an advantage – it’s hard to lose it outdoors.

Super equipment. Build quality at a very high level, as always with Silky. This is my third folding saw from this brand. Compared to the same red 7.5, it has smaller teeth, so the cut leaves a smoother surface.

This is my first saw of this type and it has really surprised me in a positive way. The speed and quality of the cut for such a small tool are really impressive. I recommend it to anyone looking for a folding saw for camping or garden work.

It is extremely light, fits well in the hand, and cuts excellently – it’s the perfect addition to your gear. I think the price for this product and brand is very favourable. I recommend it!

Great saw, tested many times outdoors. In the current version, it works excellently with dry wood. For very resinous, fresh or wet wood, I recommend buying a different blade. The teeth are one-sided, so the saw only cuts on the pull stroke, but it doesn't require much effort. It easily cut through logs with a diameter of up to 13 cm. I recommend it!

The three biggest advantages of this saw are: lightness, low price and sharpness. After a few days of use, I haven’t noticed any disadvantages. It’s important to use it as intended and only cut on the pull stroke – otherwise the blade can easily bend or break.

Exceptional saw – compact and lightweight. The narrow blade ensures a thin kerf and high work efficiency. You must remember to cut only in your direction, as with Japanese saws, so as not to permanently bend the blade. I highly recommend it.
