This is not a review based on a first impression, but a reliable assessment after four years of use and about 1,500 km. The boots performed well both in everyday use and during trips — in Montenegro, Sicily, the Polish mountains and at the seaside, as well as in the city, forest, meadow, beach, marshes, rocks, or during urban exploration, in temperatures from 0 to 28°C. The sole has worn down by maybe 5%, and the material hardly at all. They were not cleaned, only reproofed. The only visible wear is on the rubber rand, which protected my toes from injury several times. Even the laces could not be destroyed. With a well-chosen insole, they are very comfortable and almost unnoticeable while walking. I would gladly buy a new pair, but the current ones still give me no reason to do so. They are a relic of times when things were made with long-term use in mind, not quick replacement. Anyone who remembers those standards will appreciate this.

The upper is made of durable cotton canvas Canvas, characterised by high abrasion resistance. The material ensures effective air circulation, and the dense weave increases its resistance to weather conditions. The upper features 6 metal laces, which improve ventilation and facilitate lacing. The heel is reinforced with an extra layer of material for better protection.
Rubber sole, toe protection
The sole with differentiated tread made of vulcanised rubber guarantees excellent grip and optimum flexibility. The front part of the shoe is protected by a rubber reinforcement that protects the toes from injury.

They are comfortable and work great in summer. Their height provides good protection against sand and small stones. After getting wet, they dry in a short time. The sole has the right firmness for standard walks in the woods, although they may prove insufficient in the mountains.

This is already my second purchase of these trainers – in the first pair, after nearly two years, the mesh in the sole was damaged, so I gave up on making a complaint. I would give them even more stars if possible. I doubt you can find better shoes at this price point. They have excellent ankle support and really comfortable. The only improvement you can do is to buy insoles for your kind of walking and foot shape to make them literally perfect.

These shoes are really unusual. Although the name suggests they are for city use, using them in urban environments is rather problematic because the sole doesn't perform well on hard surfaces like asphalt or cobblestones. The inside of the shoes is not well finished – after walking for a long time, the seams can twist and rub against your feet quite painfully. The low profile provides good stability but also makes it very difficult to put the shoes on. The cotton upper hardly lets any air through, so your feet quickly get sweaty, and the durability of the shoes is quite questionable – after just one longer walk of about 16–20 km, I noticed significant signs of wear inside the shoes.
