The Light My Fire fire starter is a piece of equipment that’s worth having with you in any situation – the FireSteel 2.0 BioScout model in particular impressed me greatly. It's very durable – the thick core produces strong sparks, and the whole thing fits well in the hand, whether I'm wearing gloves or my hands are wet. The bioplastic handle is slightly rough, which makes it easy to hold securely, even during precise movements. In terms of functionality, it works brilliantly – it produces very hot, plentiful sparks that easily ignite cotton wool, dry grass, kindling, or well-prepared tinder from birch bark. Compared to cheaper models, there is a clear difference in the quality of sparking. The extra toothed steel works unexpectedly well, although you can also use the edge of a knife if needed. The whole construction is lightweight, compact, and easy to tuck into a pocket, pouch, backpack, or wear around your neck. The lanyard connecting the elements is strong and flexible. An additional advantage is the built-in whistle – admittedly, it won’t replace a professional signalling device, but in an emergency it gives a loud, clear sound. The red colour is highly visible, which is useful if you drop the fire starter on the ground or lose it among your things. It's a solid source of fire, ideal for camping, hiking, EDC kits, or bushcraft. It works reliably, which is what matters to me most during expeditions. I highly recommend it!

Light My Fire is a Swedish brand that has been on the market since 1995 and initially gained popularity thanks to its MayaSticks natural fire starter imported from Guatemala. The breakthrough moment came with the development of a magnesium flint inspired by Swedish army equipment – a product that quickly became an indispensable part of the equipment of outdoor and survival enthusiasts. In 2005, the company introduced the MealKit set with the iconic spork – a universal piece of cutlery combining three functions in one tool, which achieved global bestseller status and became an icon of the brand. Light My Fire products, designed and largely manufactured in Sweden, are distinguished by their solid workmanship and distinctive, functional design. The spork even made it into NASA's equipment as a practical tool used during space missions. Today, the brand is available in more than 50 countries, promoting an active lifestyle and a passion for exploring nature.

The fire starter produces a lot of sparks and works great for lighting fires. I’ve used it several times already and it still looks like new. The sparks are intense, so you can light a fire quickly. I definitely recommend this product. Even though I’m just starting out with fire lighting, I had no difficulties at all.

Very good fire starter – compact, lightweight, and solid. It works great for camping, bushcraft, and as part of your emergency EDC kit. It generates a strong spark, easily ignites kindling, cotton wool, or dry grass, even when it’s damp. The bioplastic handle fits well in the hand, and the added whistle is a practical bonus. After several uses, there are practically no signs of wear, which proves the high quality of the rod. It's worth having this fire starter with you, as it works even when matches or a lighter fail.

Easy to use and durable. Striking sparks is not difficult even for people without much experience. It works well despite its small size, plus the eco-friendly grip doesn't lower the product quality.
-
Very good fire steel, produces strong sparks. The shaped grip makes it easy to light a fire. Works even in moisture. Highly recommended.
-
Very nice fire steel – comfortable, good price, you can put it in a handbag or backpack. Nice colour and strong sparks. I'm satisfied. The shaped grip works well even with wet hands or gloves.
-
This is the best fire steel on the market – it's light, handy and it's easy to start a fire with it (for example, using a cotton pad). I definitely recommend it, even a child can manage.

Great! Sparks like a sparkler. Why use matches or a lighter, when all you need is to scrape this and you've got fire? It doesn't matter if it falls into water – just wait for it to dry and it will work again. Light My Fire is the best value for money.

I have this fire steel and many other products from this brand. In my opinion, these are some of the best on the market in this category. The fire steel makes great sparks, I recommend both the product and the shop militaria.pl.

Hello! In my opinion, the fire steel is fine, I bought it for the striker as it gives great sparks with every military fire steel. The striker itself is worth buying – it's durable, and the fire steel will last about a year.

Light My Fire is an unrivalled brand when it comes to fire steels. I have tested different ones and only this one worked. I recommend buying their products.
-
Great for everyday use because it is small and lightweight. The distinct colour makes it easy to find, even if you drop it. The whistle is an added bonus.
-
This is my second fire steel and I am very satisfied. Small, handy, and the striker works perfectly. It is excellent for EDC.
-
A smaller version, so it takes up little space. I carry it together with a mini stove as a backup fire lighter just in case.

I think this is not the best choice for beginners. The fire steel is short, which makes it harder to use, although it creates good sparks once you learn. It wears out quickly. Next time I'll get a larger size – the cord could be longer too.
