I bought them with concerns they would be too dark for airsoft, but they turned out perfect. For me, they darken just right and the image is better than through clear lenses, especially in snowy conditions. They are clear, do not distort vision, and the antifog coating is effective for a while. I recommend buying McNett Op Drops antifog – it almost completely eliminates fogging.
ESS Crossbow Visor Smoke Gray
Replacement tinted ballistic visor Crossbow Clear is suitable for all glasses models from the Cross-Series line: Crossbow, Suppressor, and Crosshair. It provides 100% UVA/UVB protection, and its durability meets the ANSI Z87.1+ standard. The visor has also passed the MIL-PRF-31013 ballistic tests with a .15 calibre.
durable visor
The visor is made from durable polycarbonate with a thickness of 2.4 mm, ensuring high resistance to damage and deformation. The ESSOPTICS technology eliminates any optical distortion and guarantees full UVA and UVB radiation protection. Thanks to ClearZone FlowCoat technology the visor is resistant to scratches and fogging, significantly improving user comfort. Visible light transmission at the level of 15% ensures clear vision in various lighting conditions, and first-class optics offer precise and bright vision.
protective standards and certifications
The model meets the certified class F strength, meaning protection against mechanical damage caused by direct impact (an object with a diameter of 6 mm and weight of 0.86 g, moving at a speed of up to 45 m/s). The visor also meets the standards:
- ANSI Z87.1 - 2010
- MIL SPEC MIL-PRF-31013 (Clause 3.5.1.1)
- EN 166:2001, EN 170 and EN 172

The use of ClearZone FlowCoat technology protects the outside of the visor from scratching and the inside from fogging.
EN166 is a European standard for optical requirements and mechanical protection for glasses and goggles. Optical requirements include light transmission and diffusion, refractive properties, heat and UV resistance, corrosion and ignition. Mechanical protection is the resistance to object impact, within which there are 4 levels designated by the letters S, F, B and A, where S is the least protection and A is the highest.
EN172 European standard specifying markings and transmittance and corresponding test methods for sunscreens that protect against solar glare.
Z87.1 standard developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the durability of eye protectors. The standard includes two types of tests (3 tests) for the impact resistance of the lens and the stability of its seating in the frame: resistance to High Mass and High Velocity objects.
EN170 standard specifies protection levels and transmittance requirements for UV protection filters. Protective glasses complying with this standard provide the necessary protection against excessive ultraviolet radiation, which can lead to loss of visual clarity and deterioration of vision.
MIL-PRF-31013 is an American military standard that covers the requirements for protective glasses that provide ballistic eye protection. The standard specifies the glasses' ability to withstand the impact of a .15-inch (3.8-mm) steel bullet weighing 0.376 grams at 200 m/s.

Although they are not polarised, they provide very good visibility and a clear image without distortion – exactly what you need. This is a great choice from this brand because you only have to change the lens, there's no need to buy several pairs of glasses. Highly recommended!

I have been using them for many years and I can honestly recommend them – they have always proven reliable. I bought a new visor because the previous one wore out, and I chose the same model again. I also recommend shopping at militaria.pl.

After years of using this model and with scratches here and there, the time came to change the visor – now I can enjoy it for many more years. The crossbow profiling at the temple protects the eyes excellently – no contaminants have managed to get in, even though it was close a few times. I have not been convinced by any other visor models for nearly a decade.
-
They provide good protection and shield the eye socket.
-
Highly recommended, I bought a second frame as a spare. The packaging and shipping are of the highest standard – 5+.

I have been using ESS Crossbow glasses for several years now, and this is already my second visor. I am not changing the model because the version with the seal fully satisfies me. They provide excellent eye protection (even with lenses) both when riding in windy conditions and on a daily basis.

They are perfect for use at open shooting ranges on sunny days. They provide good protection for the eyes and surrounding areas.
