I bought them worried they would be too dark for airsoft, but they turned out to be perfect. For me, the tinting is just right, and the image is better than through clear lenses, especially in snowy conditions. They are transparent, do not distort vision, and the antifog coating is effective for a while. I recommend buying McNett Op Drops antifog – it almost completely eliminates fogging.
ESS Crossbow Visor Smoke Gray
Tinted ballistic visor replacement Crossbow Clear is suitable for all models of glasses from the Cross-Series line: Crossbow, Suppressor, and Crosshair. It provides 100% protection against UVA/UVB radiation, and its durability meets the ANSI Z87.1+ standard. The visor also successfully passed ballistic tests MIL-PRF-31013 with a .15 caliber.
durable visor
The visor is made of durable polycarbonate with a thickness of 2.4 mm, ensuring high resistance to damage and deformation. ESSOPTICS technology eliminates any optical distortions and guarantees full protection against UVA and UVB radiation. The use of ClearZone FlowCoat technology makes the visor scratch-resistant and fog-resistant, significantly improving user comfort. Visible light transmission at a level of 15% provides clear vision in various lighting conditions, while first-class optics offer precise and bright vision.
protection standards and certifications
The model meets the certified F strength class, meaning protection against mechanical damage resulting from direct impact (object with a diameter of 6 mm and a weight of 0.86 g, moving at a speed of up to 45 m/s). The visor also meets standards:
- ANSI Z87.1 - 2010
- MIL SPEC MIL-PRF-31013 (Clause 3.5.1.1)
- EN 166:2001, EN 170, and EN 172
- CE 5-3.1 FT K N
- US Federal OSHA

The use of ClearZone FlowCoat technology protects the outside of the visor from scratching and the inside from fogging.
EN166 is a European standard for optical requirements and mechanical protection for glasses and goggles. Optical requirements include light transmission and diffusion, refractive properties, heat and UV resistance, corrosion and ignition. Mechanical protection is the resistance to object impact, within which there are 4 levels designated by the letters S, F, B and A, where S is the least protection and A is the highest.
EN172 European standard specifying markings and transmittance and corresponding test methods for sunscreens that protect against solar glare.
Z87.1 standard developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the durability of eye protectors. The standard includes two types of tests (3 tests) for the impact resistance of the lens and the stability of its seating in the frame: resistance to High Mass and High Velocity objects.
EN170 standard specifies protection levels and transmittance requirements for UV protection filters. Protective glasses complying with this standard provide the necessary protection against excessive ultraviolet radiation, which can lead to loss of visual clarity and deterioration of vision.
MIL-PRF-31013 is an American military standard that covers the requirements for protective glasses that provide ballistic eye protection. The standard specifies the glasses' ability to withstand the impact of a .15-inch (3.8-mm) steel bullet weighing 0.376 grams at 200 m/s.

Although they are not polarized, they provide very good visibility and a clear, distortion-free image – that's exactly what matters. It's a great choice from this brand, because you only need to change the lens, not buy several pairs of glasses. I recommend them!
-
I have been using them for many years and I honestly recommend them – they have always worked well. I bought a new visor because the previous one was worn out, and I chose the same model again. I also recommend shopping at militaria.pl.
-
After years of using this model and scratches here and there, the time came to replace the visor – I can enjoy it for another few years now. The crossbow profiling at the temple protects the eyes perfectly – no debris has ever gotten in, even though it was close a few times. For almost a decade, no other visor models have convinced me.
-
They provide good protection and coverage for the eye socket.
-
I recommend it, I bought a second frame as a spare. Packaging and shipping at the highest level – 5+.

I have been using ESS Crossbow glasses for several years now—this is already my second visor. I don't change the model because the version with a gasket fully satisfies me. They provide great eye protection (even when wearing contact lenses), both while driving on windy days and for everyday use.
-
They work perfectly at open shooting ranges during sunny days. They provide good protection for the eyes and surrounding areas.
