It's hard to judge the quality just after purchase – I hope that a branded product will meet expectations. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the information provided by Carinthia – the technical data is imprecise. The manufacturer declares a weight of 1050g and a packed size of 18x25cm, which was very important to me – I wanted a sleeping bag that was lighter or smaller than the summer MON model, with a comparable temperature range. It turned out that the product is heavier and bulkier when packed than the manufacturer claims. The MON weighs 1200g, and the Defence 1 Top Medium as much as 1300g, even though the specifications state 1150g. The compressed size is 20x34cm instead of the promised 18x25cm – even with strong compression, you can only achieve 19x30cm. I wonder if the temperature ranges provided by the manufacturer are equally inaccurate... When buying an expensive product, I expect reliable specifications from the manufacturer.

Temperature range and usage conditions
The usage temperatures of the Defence Top 1 sleeping bag are specified according to EN 13537 standard:
- T-limit: 4 C – minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -10 C – lowest temperature for survival in the sleeping bag. Not recommended for standard use.
Shellproof polyamide
The outer and inner layers of the sleeping bag are made of Shellproof polyamide – a material composed of nylon microfibers with a microporous structure, resistant to moisture and mechanical damage.
G-Loft insulation, Thermoflect
The interior is filled with G-Loft synthetic insulation, which provides effective thermal protection. The dual-layer construction retains its insulating properties even when wet, after washing, or under intensive use. The Thermoflect layer reflects body heat and retains it inside. The outer shell is separated from the inner layer, creating an additional insulating barrier.
Central zipper, Anti Snag system
The sleeping bag features a central, two-way zipper for full opening. The Anti Snag system prevents fabric from getting caught in the zipper. Along the zipper runs an insulated flap that reduces cold penetration. A Velcro tab at the top of the zipper prevents accidental unzipping during sleep. The trapezoidal foot section improves thermal comfort and offers more legroom.
Integrated hood for cold protection
This model is equipped with an anatomically shaped hood with an adjustable face opening, allowing individual adjustment using drawcords.
