Flecktarn Camouflage

Flecktarn is a classic German military camouflage, officially introduced for use by the Bundeswehr in 1990. This pattern is based on small, irregular spots in five colours - typically dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige. By arranging numerous points and blurred boundaries between colours, Flecktarn effectively disperses the user's silhouette contours both in woodland and dense vegetation or against forest floor backgrounds. The camouflage was designed with European climatic conditions in mind, particularly in the temperate zone. Flecktarn remains the standard pattern used by the German army and other military and police formations today, and its effectiveness has led to numerous variants and adaptations in other countries.
