Flecktarn Camouflage

Flecktarn is a classic German military camouflage, officially introduced into the Bundeswehr in 1990. This pattern is based on small, irregular spots in five colors - usually dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige. With numerous points and blurred boundaries between the colors, Flecktarn effectively disperses the user's silhouette contours in forested terrains, thickets, or against forest litter. The camouflage was designed with European climatic conditions in mind, especially in the temperate zone. Flecktarn remains a standard pattern used by the German army and other military and police forces, and its effectiveness has led to numerous variants and adaptations in other countries.
