Brandit US M51 Parka Jacket with Detachable Lining - Black

Long parka jacket in black with a detachable lining, made from a high-quality blend of cotton and nylon. The characteristic rear opening, known as the fishtail, is reminiscent of the design of the famous M51 model used by the US Army.

Detachable lining for thermal comfort

For additional warmth, the jacket features a thermal detachable lining made of 100% durable nylon and filled with a polyester padding. The lining also includes sleeves and is attached to the jacket by buttons at the neck and sleeves.

Four spacious pockets and a hood

The model includes a large adjustable hood and four spacious pockets. Two of them are in a Napoleon style, located at waist height, fastened with sturdy snaps, allowing for convenient carrying of essential items. The other two are sewn on the hips with a fleece lining, offering additional space to hide and warm hands on cooler days.

Zip with strip, drawstring, and adjustable cuffs

The US M51 model is fastened with a zipper, secured externally with a snap strip. The drawstring at the waist and adjustable cuffs protect against the cold and wind.

I'm 188 cm tall, weigh 103 kg, and my chest is about 125-130 cm. Size XL fits me perfectly. I received a jacket in the "camel" colour, even though I ordered "coyote". I kept it because I actually liked this shade more. I rated it lower for the quality of the stitching – it looks as if someone sewed it after drinking. There are lots of loose threads and the seams are uneven. The jacket is better suited for temperatures above zero, so I'm not surprised that during the Korean War, Americans often felt cold.

The jacket is made from quite good materials, it's spacious, but the lining is very thin and doesn't resemble that of a real parka. It might be suitable for temperatures up to 5 degrees, but it's not suitable for wind or snow unless you plan to wear another jacket underneath.
