Baofeng UV-5RT Two-Way Radio is a small device with a dual-band function, allowing simultaneous operation on two frequency bands. A dedicated button facilitates switching between them. This model is characterised by a transmission power up to 8 W and a reinforced housing that is resistant to mechanical damage and adverse weather conditions, operating within a temperature range of -20 deg. C to +60 deg. C.

It supports bands 136–174 MHz (RX/TX), 400–520 MHz (RX/TX) and allows reception of FM radio 76–108 MHz. Users have access to power adjustment (8W / 4W / 1W), VOX function, frequency scanner and SOS. The two-way radio supports DTMF, ANI (with computer programming capability), CTCSS, DCS tones and 1750 Hz, and allows channel spacing adjustment in the range from 2.5 to 25 kHz.

The large backlit LCD display provides both text and graphic information. The ergonomic keyboard with assigned shortcuts enables quick access to functions without searching through the menu. The device fits comfortably in the hand and can be operated with one hand.
