Badger Outdoor Folding Shovel

The shovel has many advantages: it’s compact, easy to unfold and fold, the blade is quite sharp and it feels good in the hand during work. Unfortunately, the mounting of the blade to the first hinge could be better – two rivets and a narrow plate mean that with every use it gets more and more deformed. I’ve taken it on several trips and it still works, but a different mounting system would prolong its life a lot.

It's a recent purchase, haven’t tested it outdoors yet, but while trying it out I noticed at least four ways to use it, which gives many possibilities. Nice flat spike, almost like a bayonet. Useful in the car or on a trip. It's not very light; I would think whether to take it in a backpack.

Works quite well for light shovelling out of snow for the car. It's light and compact when folded, unfolds quickly. Unfortunately, the quality isn't the best – it's unstable and falls apart quickly. It probably wouldn’t last long in harder ground.

For this price it's fine, though the quality could be better – it bends easily and the paint comes off quickly with heavier use. On the plus side, its practical size and the presence of a pick. I recommend it to everyone if you get it on sale.

Solid entrenching tool, the only downside is the paint peeling off (mainly from the shovel). On the plus side, the presence of a pickaxe, handy for hard soils, and a decent saw. Overall, I recommend it.

Nice and practical thing at a low price. The trowel has three modes: small pickaxe, 90-degree angle, and shovel. The fastening could be more solid. Ideal for simple tasks, worth having it in the car.

Good for digging a wheel out of mud or snow, although there is some play in the joints and the paint quickly wears off during use. After working in the sand, the mechanism might get a bit gritty, making it harder to operate.

Cheap, light, small entrenching tool. Good for keeping in the car or occasional use when travelling. For more frequent use, better find something more durable.

I think some people may find it difficult at first to lock the entrenching tool so it doesn't fold, but once you manage it, no one will be disappointed.

It's lightweight, inexpensive, takes up little space and is good for light work in the soil, but not suitable for heavier tasks like digging up roots.

This is the worst entrenching tool I've ever had. I don't know if I got a faulty one, but during digging it folds by itself despite tightening, so I almost trapped my finger.
