This model doesn't work particularly well for carrying firearms (I tested it with a Mauser Kar98). However, the special pocket is well-suited for a small hatchet or other equipment that can be attached outside. When packed, the rucksack feels spacious (the main compartment is simple, without extra organisation). The bottle pockets can fit an Oasis 1L (just about), a Wildo 0.7 or an Esbit 0.6 thermos with ease (I haven't tested others). The small front pockets are well designed and capacious. On the downside, I think the lack of bottom straps and rather small side pockets are negatives.
