I have been using ultrasonic repellents for quite some time and I must admit they are very effective. Although I don't rely solely on them in the fight against ticks, they are my main protection. I chose the rechargeable version for its convenience and cost-effectiveness. The device operates continuously from the moment it is switched on until the battery runs out, and its small size makes it easy to attach both to a shoe and to your wrist. After a full charge, it works for about three weeks. I definitely recommend it!
TickLess Active Ultrasonic Tick Repeller - for humans - Coral
TickLess – ultrasonic tick protection is a compact, portable device that generates ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 40 kHz, inaudible to humans and domestic animals.
It is useful during forest trips, time at the allotment, fishing, camping, bushcraft activities, and all kinds of outdoor activities where there is a risk of tick contact.
Ticks are carriers of dangerous diseases such as Lyme disease or tick-borne encephalitis. Using the TickLess device helps reduce the risk of bites and thus the risk of infection.
frequency 40 kHz, operating range, IP13 standard
Ticks use the Haller's organ located on the first pair of legs to locate a host. The ultrasonic waves at 40 kHz emitted by the device disrupt the reception of stimuli by this organ. The effective range is approximately 2.5 meters.
The casing in Colar color is made of durable plastic resistant to damage. The device meets the IP13 standard, which means protection against solid objects larger than 50 mm and resistance to water spray at a 60-degree angle.
Device operation
Before use, charge the built-in battery (Li-Ion, micro USB), then activate the device by holding the button. Four LED flashes confirm activation. When the battery level drops below 30%, a red light will appear. To turn off TickLess Active, press the button three times quickly – two LED flashes confirm deactivation.
The device should be attached to a shoelace to allow ultrasonic waves to spread effectively. One full charge provides operation for 7 to 14 days. The night location mode (rapid LED flashing) can be enabled or disabled by holding the button for a few seconds.
Safety and environmental protection
The model does not harm the environment, emits no chemicals, and is designed for safe use. It poses no risk to pregnant women, children, the elderly, or pacemaker users, making it a safe alternative to chemical repellents that may cause allergic reactions in some cases.

I chose this repellent mainly because it has a rechargeable battery. Unfortunately, the shoe mounting system doesn't work well when walking through bushes and uneven terrain. During a mountain hike, I lost it somewhere along the way.

It's hard to say if it works, because devices like this can be unpredictable. However, I hear sounds when I put my ear to the device. It has been used several times and no ticks have appeared. The downside is that there is no beep to indicate it turns off after 8 hours—I didn't notice this when I was in tick-prone areas for longer. The battery lasts for a long time.

The product is effective, although less practical than the battery-powered model. It turns on by itself in a backpack, and the lack of an automatic switch-off function causes it to discharge completely. The shape and method of mounting are not very comfortable. You have to make sure to charge it regularly, as it doesn't last as long as the battery-powered device. I recommend the classic version more.

It worked well, I charged it after a week of use.

It fulfils its purpose. I recommend buying it.

So far, I haven't encountered any ticks, even though I often walk in the forest off the designated paths, so it seems to be effective.
