I have been using ultrasonic repellents for a long time and I must admit they are very effective. Although I don't rely solely on them to fight ticks, they are my main protection. The device works continuously from the moment it is turned on until the battery is discharged, and its small size makes it easy to attach both to a shoe and to the wrist. TickLess – ultrasonic tick protection is a small, portable gadget that emits ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 40 kHz, which humans and pets cannot hear.

Ticks use the Haller's organ located on the first pair of legs to locate a host. The ultrasonic waves at 40 kHz emitted by the device disrupt the reception of stimuli by this organ. The effective range is approximately 2.5 meters.
The casing in Colar color is made of durable plastic resistant to damage. The device meets the IP13 standard, which means protection against solid objects larger than 50 mm and resistance to water spray at a 60-degree angle.
Device operation
Prior to using the device, ensure the built-in battery (Li-Ion, micro USB) is charged, then activate it by pressing and holding the button. Activation is confirmed with four LED flashes. A red light signals when the battery level falls below 30%. To deactivate TickLess Active, press the button rapidly three times – deactivation is confirmed by two LED flashes.
Attach the device to a shoelace to efficiently disperse ultrasonic waves. A full charge lasts between 7 to 14 days. Activate or deactivate the night location mode (indicated by rapid LED flashing) by holding the button for a few seconds.

I chose this repeller mainly because it has a battery and can be charged. Unfortunately, the mounting system for shoes doesn't work well when I'm walking through thickets and uneven ground. During a mountain trek, I lost it somewhere along the way.

It's hard to say if it works, because with such devices the results may vary. However, I hear sounds when I put my ear to the device. It was used several times and no ticks appeared. A downside is the lack of a sound signal informing you that it has turned off after 8 hours – I didn't notice this when spending more time in a risky area. The battery lasts a long time.

The product is effective, although less practical than the battery-operated model. It activates by itself in the backpack, and the lack of an automatic shut-off function leads to complete discharge. The shape and mounting method are not very convenient. Regular charging is needed, because it doesn't last as long as the battery-powered device. I recommend the classic variant more.
