Texar Jungle Hat - UPC
The UPC camouflage hat is made from a blend of synthetic and natural fibres consisting of 55% polyester and 45% cotton. The use of Rip-Stop weave significantly increases the fabric's resistance to tears and abrasions. The material is lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying, making the hat suitable for activities in variable terrain conditions. It provides effective protection against both sun and rain.

The hat is equipped with a chin cord with adjustable length, allowing it to be securely fastened. Metal snap buttons enable the brim to be folded up, allowing the user to adapt the hat to weather conditions or personal preference.

Camouflage UCP
UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern) is a digital camouflage pattern introduced at the beginning of the 21st century as a successor to US Woodland and Desert. It combines camouflage functions in various environments - forest, desert and urban - which is why shades of green and beige are combined with gray. The spot arrangement is based on the MARPAT pattern, and the pastel, low-contrast colors create a pixelated micro-pattern that blends well into the environment at short distances but merges into a uniform silhouette at greater distances. UCP showed high effectiveness in infrared, which contributed to its introduction, but it was eventually replaced by OCP camouflage based on the MultiCam pattern.

Update – the hat managed Madeira’s winds without a problem. The drawstring held well and didn’t fall off even in strong winds in the gorges. It was heavily used, soaked during heatwaves, squeezed out from sweat and nothing happened – it didn’t fade or lose its shape. It still looks like new. Despite its thickness, it was comfortable even in heat, providing shade and there was no need to wear sunglasses.

A very practical hat for various occasions. I wear the men's version because they don't have women's; I use it for mushroom picking, at the stables, and on outdoor trips. It stays on the head well and gives basic protection against rain. The mosquito net fits well, which is important as I often spend time in nature. My previous one lasted over a year and was still fine – I bought another one.

An interesting cut, nice colours, although the sizing comes up a bit small and it's hard to get a perfect fit, as it jumps every two centimetres. The hat is made of cotton with added polyester and reinforced with Rip Stop mesh, plus the material is light, breathable, and dries quickly.
