3M Peltor SportTac - Camo are active hearing protectors
Peltor SportTac hearing protectors, designed with shooting sports in mind, feature active noise suppression. Thanks to built-in directional microphones, it is possible to clearly hear ambient sounds without losing situational awareness. When a sudden sound, such as a gunshot, occurs, advanced electronics suppress the noise to a safe level. This allows for conversation even during intense shooting.
The device features two high-frequency microphones that support ambient sound audibility. Dangerous noises are reduced to 85 dB, while low-volume sounds are amplified.
Volume adjustment
The protectors allow the volume of heard sounds and conversations to be adjusted according to individual needs. Thanks to advanced electronics, there are no crackles. The model has a smoothly operating sound reproduction system that prevents sudden reductions in audibility. Activation and adjustment are carried out using 3 buttons.
Profiled ear cups and headband
Wide pads effectively insulate noise. The profile of the lower part of the ear cups allows for comfortable shooting. A soft plastic headband evenly distributes pressure, making it comfortable to wear for long periods. The sliding construction facilitates personalized fit to the shooter's head.
Long-lasting operation
Peltor SportTac operates using two AAA batteries, sufficient for approximately 600 hours. Replacing the batteries involves removing the panel on the side of one ear cup. The device includes a low battery warning system and an automatic shutdown function after 2 hours of inactivity.
Audio input
The J22 audio input (3.5 mm mini-jack) allows connection to devices such as a radio or smartphone, enhancing the protectors' functionality.

Very good headphones, they do their job – they effectively muffle the sounds of gunshots at the shooting range, and at the same time clearly amplify voices, so you can talk comfortably (even a whisper from people several stations away is easily heard). They are comfortable to wear, not heavy, and do not interfere when aiming a shot. An additional advantage is the replaceable ear pads. The only thing missing is the ability to fold them.
