If you don’t want to go deaf on an indoor shooting range while someone is shooting an AK next to you, these headphones are for you. 32 dB is the maximum protection that active hearing protectors offer – and for an attractive price.
3M Peltor Protac Shooter SNR 32 dB Active Hearing Protectors - Green
These headphones are powered by two AA batteries, allowing you to hear ambient sounds not exceeding 82 dB. When impulse noise occurs, such as a gunshot, the built-in microphones record the sound, and advanced electronics immediately reduce the noise to a safe level, maintaining situational awareness and allowing free communication even during intense fire.
High attenuation and energy efficiency
According to the European Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) value, which allows you to determine the expected sound attenuation, the ProTac Hunter protectors offer attenuation at the SNR 32 dB level. To optimise energy consumption, the electronics automatically shut down after 4 hours of non-use. When the battery is close to depletion, the user receives an appropriate voice notification.
Button layout and sound adjustment
Buttons are placed on one of the earcups, allowing convenient turning on and off and sound adjustment. Quiet ambient sounds can be amplified. The adjustable headband ensures a good fit to the head, and the soft ear cushions guarantee comfort even during prolonged use.
3.5 mm audio input
The headphones are equipped with an external 3.5 mm audio input, allowing connection to devices such as smartphones or radios.

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Peltor.
Peltor is a Swedish brand whose origins date back to 1950, when Thore Palmaer developed the first set that enabled effective communication in noisy military environments while protecting the user's hearing. The company has gained a reputation as a pioneer in the field of acoustic protection and today operates as part of the 3M group, offering advanced solutions for industry, the military, aviation, and outdoor enthusiasts. One of the brand's key achievements is the ComTac system, which has been used by the military since the late 1990s. This solution provides simultaneous noise protection and situational awareness by digitally suppressing high-intensity sounds and amplifying quieter ones. Another breakthrough in the range is the WS Alert XPV model – the world's first self-sufficient protective headphones with Bluetooth connectivity, equipped with Powerfoyle™ cells that allow solar charging. This technology significantly reduces and often eliminates the need for manual charging, offering users even greater independence and convenience.

Good earmuffs! They're a bit big, but it's understandable with such effective attenuation. Conversations are easy to hear and shots are well suppressed. Equipment worth every penny. Made in Sweden, not China. I've used them for 5 years, practically twice a month for 1.5 hours at a time, and never had any issues.

They look large and uncomfortable, but they’re light and don’t press on your head. The only issue is that the materials feel cheap, and the plastic gives a very poor impression.

They are indispensable at an indoor range, especially during volleys from centre-fire weapons. They suppress noise brilliantly. They can be slightly inconvenient when aiming with a rifle or shotgun—you just need to get used to it and adjust your position properly. The operating time of the active mode could be improved, as the headphones unexpectedly switched off after more than an hour at the range while I was talking to an official. Well worth buying at this price.

Very good earmuffs. You can talk freely at the range, and at the same time, they effectively suppress gunshot sounds. The only reservation is their width, which can be slightly inconvenient when aiming with a rifle. You just need to position yourself properly.
-
Very good headphones. After several visits to the shooting range, I can say they are really effective. It's better to spend 200–300 PLN more and avoid other, untested models.
-
Excellent protectors. After a year of use, I have absolutely no complaints.
-
Great protective earmuffs. Highly recommended.

These are some of the best protective headphones. However, I have heard that they are often counterfeited and sometimes it's hard to tell the original from a fake. You'll find entire discussions about this on forums.

Peltor Protac Shooter headphones are the best hearing protectors I have used. They reduce loud noises perfectly and have excellent volume adjustment. Thanks to the soft cushions, you can wear them for hours on end.

They do their job very well.

In my opinion, this is the best choice among what is available. I’ve also tried Hunter and SportTac models, but the Shooters suppress sounds the best. Hunters are worse (thinner); SportTacs have the best electronics. The Shooters are the best compromise between price and quality. I highly recommend them!

I think these protectors are excellent and have a great price-to-quality ratio. I’ve already had several shooting sessions and they perform brilliantly. They reduce gunshot noise perfectly while still allowing you to hear conversations clearly. I looked for a suitable model for a long time, but now I have no regrets and recommend them to everyone – tested at an indoor range.

Very good protectors – they're large, but because of that they dampen noise extremely well. I also have Earmor M31s, which are slimmer and work well with long guns, but they do not suppress sounds as effectively as the Shooters.

I use them in a container shooting range – they dampen noise brilliantly, and after firing, natural sounds return immediately. They have no delay, unlike some more expensive competitor models. I’ve tested different protectors; these are the best.
