3M Peltor SportTac Active Hearing Protectors - Olive/Orange

Professional active hearing protection designed for shooting sports. Providing advanced protection against noise. They also offer the possibility of connecting to external audio devices and an adjustable attenuation function.

The model is equipped with built-in microphones to support the audibility of ambient sounds. When the safe noise level of 85 dB is exceeded, an electronic circuit turns off the microphones and suppresses the noise.

The SportTac amplifies sounds below 85 dB, so you can hear better with the earmuffs than without it. A key advantage is the ability to adjust the volume of sound and conversation heard, depending on needs and the situation. The use of advanced electronic circuitry eliminates crackling. Furthermore, the model is equipped with a smooth acoustic system that prevents sudden drops in the level of sound heard.

The ear muffs are powered by two AAA batteries (mounted in one canopy). The manufacturer has fitted an automatic energy-saving mode which switches off the earmuffs after two hours of inactivity. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the electronic system remembers the last volume settings and indicates low battery levels. On a single set of batteries, the earmuffs can run up to 600 hours.

Activation and volume control adjustments are made via three large buttons. The bottom part of the ear muffs is moulded, so that the ear muffs do not interfere with shooting. The wide pads insulate very well from noise and can be easily kept clean. The contoured headband evenly distributes the pressure on the head, so the protectors can be worn for long periods without feeling uncomfortable pressure. The expandable design makes it easy to adapt the protectors to the shape of the shooter's head.
