Olight S2R II Baton Rechargeable Torch Black - 1150 lumens
An EDC torch equipped with a high-performance Luminus SST-40 LED and PMMA TIR optics (lens/collimator), generating a light output of 1150 lumens with a beam distance of up to 135 meters. In the lowest 0.5-lumen mode, it can operate continuously for 60 days!
Aluminum housing, IPX8 rating, drop resistance
The body is made of durable, knurled aluminum with a rough Black texture that prevents the torch from slipping out of the hand. The head is protected by a stainless steel bezel, and its fixed design reduces the risk of damage or water leakage. The sturdy construction ensures drop resistance from heights of up to 1.5 meters. The model meets the IPX-8 standard, guaranteeing resistance to submersion up to 2 meters for 30 minutes.
Six lighting modes
The torch offers six lighting modes, allowing brightness adjustments for various needs.

The torch uses a modified 18650 battery, which is charged via the Olight MCC-1A USB magnetic charger (included). The LED indicator on the switch shows the charge level:
- Green: >70%
- Yellow: 70-15%
- Red: <15%
The S2R II model features a timer function, allowing automatic shutoff after 3 or 9 minutes, and a lockout mode to prevent accidental activation. The manufacturer provides a 5-year warranty on the torch and 1-year warranty on the battery.
Spring clip, magnetic base
A detachable spring clip allows the torch to be attached to a pocket or gear.
The flat base enables the torch to stand upright, while a powerful magnet in the tail cap allows secure attachment to metal surfaces, including ceilings or vehicles.

I have such a torch but an older version – it was my first one (that’s where it all started). The torch gives off a great beam of light, has several modes, including strobe. Even after a few years, I still think it’s worth every penny.

A cool torch, as its head does not rotate, which reduces the risk of damage or leaks. The batteries are inserted by unscrewing the flat rear cap, which allows the torch to stand upright.

It performs excellently in the field, illuminating spaces well even in bad weather such as fog or heavy rain. It's comfortable and handy, with a lanyard that doesn’t chafe and is durable. The only downside is susceptibility to water. The torch survived several falls onto concrete, snow, mud, and even into water without any problem – it only slightly scratched the paint. The battery allows for long usage; I only charged it once in a month despite frequent use. I definitely recommend it.
