This is yet another AA/AAA battery charger that I am using, so I can share a comparison with other models. The most important thing for me is how convenient it is to use – you simply pop the batteries in without paying special attention to their orientation or poles. Another advantage is USB-C power supply, which means you can use it, for example, with a power bank. As for the drawbacks, the app is basically a combination of a shop and device manager; it’s not a dedicated tool created solely for Olight equipment management. Another plus is the side, fold-out charger for two Olight torches with rings – it’s a very convenient solution, as there is no longer a need to use the magnetic chargers supplied with the torches. Unfortunately, I have concerns about the availability of the dedicated Olight Ecolast batteries – they are very hard to find and quite expensive; I only managed to find them in one shop in Poland.
Olight Ostation 2 Charging Station
Automatic charging station compatible with AA and AAA Ni-MH batteries as well as Ecolast 1.5V AA Li-Ion. Equipped with an intelligent system for charge status assessment, current optimisation, and identification of damaged cells and polarity. The design allows easy charging and storage of the batteries.
Spacious feeder and container
The model includes two compartments capable of holding 12 AA batteries and 12 AAA batteries. The unique design enables gravitational feeding of cells into the charger, and after charging, they are directed into the container. A wide opening facilitates the insertion of batteries into the feeder. Wide openings make it easy to insert the batteries into the feeders. The whole unit is closed with flaps that protect the batteries from dust. The lower shelves provide convenient access to the charged batteries.
Intelligent detection and sorting system
The charger allows simultaneous charging of up to 4 batteries: 2 AA size and 2 AAA size. It checks the charge status and for damage. Damaged batteries are automatically transferred to the dedicated drop-off container. The device also supports a rapid charging system, where full charging takes 2.5 hours. It is powered via a USB-C cable.
Safe usage
The model is equipped with numerous protections:
- against overheating
- against overcharging
- against excessive voltage
- against short circuits
- overcurrent
- cooling system
- against electrostatic discharge
Olight App
The station can be connected to the Olight app, which allows management of the charger, checking the current charge status of cells, selecting the charging mode, and informs about the detection of damaged batteries.
