9. Flecktarn Camouflage
Flecktarn is a classic German military camouflage, officially introduced into the Bundeswehr in 1990. This pattern is based on small, irregular spots in five colours - usually dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige. Thanks to the arrangement of numerous dots and blurred boundaries between the colours, Flecktarn effectively breaks up the user's silhouette both in woodland areas and in undergrowth or against forest litter. The camouflage was designed with European climatic conditions in mind, especially in the temperate zone. Flecktarn remains the standard pattern used by the German army and other military and police formations, and its effectiveness has led to numerous variants and adaptations in other countries.
