The lightweight and comfortable jacket in the characteristic military aviation "flejers" cut. The outer material is durable nylon, while protection from the cold is provided by polyester insulation.
The jacket is fastened with a solid zipper and equipped with drawstrings at the waist, wrists and collar. The main zipper has been additionally secured with an internal wind pleat.
The jacket is equipped with five practical pockets:
- two inner with snap closure,
- two external with a flap closed with a snap,
- one on the left shoulder fastened with a zipper.
The shoulder pocket has been additionally equipped with loops to hold four pens or other accessories.
The MA-1 can be worn on either the right or left side. The inner part was made in a striking orange color scheme. This distinctive solution is related to the original purpose of MA-1 jackets for USAF pilots. In the event of a malfunction or shoot-down, they had a better chance of being rescued by search services. Nowadays, this ingenious solution can come in handy, for example, when moving along the side of an unlit road outside a built-up area.
