Mechanix Wear Cold Weather SUB20 Tactical Gloves - Realtree Edge

Winter tactical gloves SUB20 in realistic Realtree Edge camouflage. They effectively protect hands from cold, abrasions, and cuts.

Synthetic leather with Padlock coating

The palm side of the gloves is made of synthetic leather and covered with a silicone, anti-slip Padlock coating, enhancing grip security. The embossed trigger finger with additional reinforcement enables precise firearm handling.

3M Thinsulate insulation and Hipora membrane

The inner insulating layer of 3M Thinsulate 100 g effectively retains warmth, providing excellent thermal comfort. The built-in waterproof Hipora membrane allows breathability and prevents excessive sweating. Additional protection against cold is ensured by the HotHands thermal pocket inside the gloves.

Extended cuffs, snap fasteners and loops for easy carrying

A comfortable cuff ensures a proper fit around the wrists and has been extended to enhance protection against cold air. Snap fasteners and loops on the wrist enable easy securing of the gloves, making transport and storage more convenient.

Touchscreen compatibility

The touchscreen-compatible feature allows for mobile device operation without removing the gloves.

EN388-3122XX and EN511 Standards

The model meets the EN388-3122XX protection standard, ensuring resistance to mechanical factors:

  • 1: Abrasion resistance (scale 0-4)
  • 1: Cut resistance (scale 0-5)
  • 2: Tear resistance (scale 0-4)
  • 2: Puncture resistance (scale 0-4)

Cold protection complies with the EN511 standard at level 120.

Camouflage Realtree Edge

Realtree Edge is a realistic camouflage pattern that combines detailed reproduction of leaves, branches, and bark with an abstract background, effectively disrupting the user's silhouette from both close up and at a distance. Thanks to its subdued palette of grays and browns, the pattern works well throughout the entire year in various forest environments, especially in conditions typical of Central Europe.

I highly recommend these gloves – they are very warm, have a soft filling and an effective non-slip surface. Additionally, they look excellent.

These are typical winter gloves – they have lots of insulation, so it's worth choosing a larger size. I usually wear L, but here XL turned out to be right. I tested them down to -5°C and they are fine. Because of the large amount of padding, hand and finger movement is quite restricted. They are not suitable for handling weapons, but for tasks like chopping or carrying they are fine.

I bought them as a gift for my husband because they had great reviews, so I decided to purchase them. The gloves are quite stiff. I chose a larger size, as suggested, but they turned out to be too loose. The quality of workmanship is very good! However, they don't quite protect against severe frost.

The gloves are indeed warm, I tested them while working in the orchard in the frost. At first, they are quite stiff, but over time they soften a bit. The lining inside could be better made. Putting them on is quite difficult. Overall, I recommend them.

The soft lining is pleasant, but it doesn’t fit well, making it hard to put the gloves on. The gloves are very stiff – I hope they become softer with time, because driving in them is difficult. In -5 degrees they don’t warm that well, but they do provide a good grip. They are not suitable for precision work, although the workmanship is solid. The long cuffs are a big advantage. The sizing runs small – better take a bigger size. My L are a bit tight, maybe they’ll stretch over time. For the price – they are quite ok.

The gloves protect well from the cold – I tested them in -5°C and they worked well for tasks like carrying wood or chopping with an axe. I don't recommend them for precision work. Size M fits smaller hands, for bigger hands it's better to take a larger size, because the insulation takes up some space.

Solid, warm gloves. This is already my next purchase of Mechanix brand gloves. They are not exceptional, but they are good and worth their price. They also performed well while skiing. I recommend them.

The quality is as you would expect from Mechanix – very good, attention to detail and high-quality materials. Once you choose the right size, they provide a secure grip. 100 g of great insulation gives thermal comfort, and the outer material protects against moisture. The product is currently at a very good promotional price.

The gloves are very thick and warm, you can dip your whole hand in water and your hands will remain dry. However, performing precise tasks is much more difficult in them, which is really an inevitable drawback of this type of glove.

Great gloves – they worked really well during a snowstorm in the mountains. The long cuff allows you to tuck the gloves under your jacket sleeve and prevents snow from getting inside. I recommend them.

The gloves are very good, although a bit stiff – they don’t work well for driving a car, and the sizes seem overstated (they could be bigger). However, for winter walks in the forest, they are very functional.

I searched for a long time for suitable gloves for working in the forest. I bought these and decided they’re worth writing about – they really work. This morning it was -15°C and I worked in them very well. I usually wear size L, but as others said in the reviews, it’s better to take a larger size – I confirm this.

They work great, after about seven minutes at room temperature, your hands start to sweat slightly. The gloves are ideal for hunting, military-simulation games or long walks in the forest in temperatures below 5°C.

Everything would be fine if the size chart included all hand measurements. I ordered size L, but I needed XL. The gloves are warm and well made for winter.

The most important thing is to choose the right size. The price of the gloves is very attractive, they are comfortable and warm, and time will tell whether they are also waterproof. They look promising.
