Practical and lightweight urban backpack with a capacity of 18 liters in MAPA camouflage. The backpack will be perfect for day activities in the field as well as for hiking-survival applications. The material used is tear- and abrasion-resistant Cordura 770.

In the main compartment we can fit a sleeping bag, provisions or spare clothing items. Inside there is a large flat mesh zippered pocket and a Velcro-closed laptop pocket. On the sides are two open pockets for a bottle or water bottle.

The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among other publications, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the wz.93 camouflage. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.

Highlights of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors that form layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette using macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn .

A velcro ( Velcro ) panel has been sewn onto the front of the backpack, allowing you to attach any emblems, such as the national flag, unit emblem or so-called Morale Patches, so you can give your backpack an individual character.

The backpack is equipped with a carrying system consisting of a padded, profiled back with grooves that allow air exchange and free ventilation of the back. The comfort of use is also influenced by quick-release profiled suspenders of adjustable length and a chest belt . At the top there is a convenient transport grip.

This is a simple backpack for daily use. Personally, I miss front pockets where you could quickly stow away keys or other small items—without them, you have to open the whole main compartment every time. The price could also be a bit lower. I rate the quality of craftsmanship very highly, but, in terms of functionality, the backpack is average.

My opinion is rather mixed. The advantages are high-quality material and solid plastic elements. There is an additional compartment at the back for a camelbak. In the main compartment, there is also a functional laptop pocket. The backpack has an organiser that wasn’t mentioned in the description—unfortunately, it is taken directly from the Sparrow 20 model, which makes it neither very comfortable nor useful, as things easily fall out of it. It also seems that the organiser is made of poor polyester material. The unusual buckles on the straps make adjusting them very difficult—the straps are hard to move. The side pockets for bottles are made of mesh, which is a shame, as Cordura would have been a better choice. Overall, it resembles solid Wisport backpacks—top-class materials and good finishing, but at the same time, you can feel some simplifications and less practical details. I expected a more innovative design.

The backpack looks very good and is carefully made. The material seems solid and durable. In reality, the product differs a bit from the photos—the side yellow stripes are actually green. The shoulder straps seem a little too wide and are a bit awkward to adjust, but it’s not something that bothers me much. The back pocket has an unusual access point—it opens from the side, which sometimes makes it hard to find things inside. I think that the Nadkoli brand should promote its products better because they are really worth recommending, and I only found out about most of their practical features during use or from online reviews.
