A handy folding ferrocerium flint with a steel striker, producing a large shower of sparks. It can be used to light, for example, a gas stove, camping stove, or campfire, which provides a source of heat and makes it possible to prepare a meal away from home. It will prove useful in emergency situations such as a blackout and during camping trips or excursions.

The ferrocerium flint works by vigorously scraping the flint rod with the sharp edge of the striker. In this way, the cerium contained in the rod oxidises and self-ignites. One stroke with the striker produces sparks with a temperature of 3000 degrees Celsius, which, when falling onto previously prepared tinder, will create a flame even in severe frost or heavy rain. The flint rod is enough for 12000 ignitions.

The set also includes a striker in the form of a metal plate. Thanks to its compact size, the whole set, when folded, will fit into trouser pocket, waist bag, or backpack.

    I definitely recommend it! Although it is small, it is thick enough that it doesn’t break. I’ve already started three campfires with it without any issues. It sparks easily. The product comes from the factory coated with a protective layer, which you have to scrape off before first use, but this is not a problem.
